All Them Witches' Bastardized Rickenbackers

Bassist Charles Michael Parks, Jr. uses an amputated 1972 Rickenbacker 4001 for most of the night. The guy he bought it from was left-handed and so he had chopped off the upper bout, slashed off some of the headstock, and flipped it around to play lefty. So Parks got the bass super cheap, had set it up to play right handed, reworked the electronics, shaved the bridge and moved it back, and then outfitted it for the proper stereo jack. It usually has D’Addario Half Round (.050-.105) strings on it.

??? What?? He just has a deep voice. You can be any age past puberty and have a deep voice. Mine is at a similar register and, coincidently, it has been at this register since I was 17 and my voice fully dropped down. I'm 24 now, and it is still just as low.

Immediately brings to mind the Jazz bass that Leland Sklar played on many of his most legendary sessions. He shaved down the upper horn to make it look more like a Les Paul body shape.

It has the toaster pickup but the horseshoe pickup is missing . This is not a 4001. It is a mess 4003. All have 2 output jacks 1 of which is stereo . And dot inlays on 4001. That removeable cover over bridge pickup. Is 4003 Output jacks are on the side . I ve had both 4003. 4001 It is surprising how many ppl don't know the differencewhen selling
