I've read all the Caraval books, and though I agree that you don't *have* to read them before the Once Upon a Broken Heart series, you get a lot more context and more of an understanding of Jacks' character in the 2nd and 3rd books in the Caraval series. He is a pretty big part of the second two Caraval books, and some of the things discussed in the OUABH books make a lot more sense in my opinion

Just an FYI, if you read once upon a broken heart first without reading the Caraval trilogy, it’ll completely spoil the trilogy bc it’s fully recaps what happens in legendary and finale. Def recommend reading the Caraval trilogy first if you want to read both series!

I’ve been reading TOG since I was 15. I’m 22 now and haven’t read the last book because i’m just so connected to this series and every character in it. I have never felt this way about any other book i’ve read and I don’t think I will ever be able to let these characters go. I hope you love the series as much as I do ❤️

Shatter Me was definitely the first fantasy series I read as a romance reader (expected it as soon as she started talking) and I highly recommend it. The series is definitely my favorite and has some of my favorite books within it. If you are going to read it, read at least until the end of Unravel Me before you decide to dnf. Ignite Me is the best one though 😊

i really recommend strange the dreamer by laini taylor!! the romance doesn't really begin until maybe halfway through? but after that it becomes a pretty big part of the duology, it's so sweet and beautiful, and the world is really cool too. there isn't a super complicated magic system either

I highly recommend reading City of Brass as the bridge between YA and Adult fantasy! I was so intimidated by it, but so happy i faced my fears. One of my fav fantasy series ever.

The six of crows duology is so good! There’s another duology called King of Scars that takes place after Crooked Kingdom but you need to read the shadow and bone trilogy and the six of crows duology to understand what’s happening.it’s really good and you get to see the characters from both series here

I just started ACOTAR and im loving it. As someone who started to love reading long time ago with Harry Potter, Twillight, and later on with Game of thrones books, i was sceptical about YA fantasy in my 30s 🤣, but im loving it and its totaly idk, relaxing and fun. The first ever fantasy books I've read was the Shatter me series and I could not recomend it enough. It's fast paced, there's so many plot twists and the romance is UNMATCHED! It's also super easy to understand because it's dystopian and it's basically set in the future of our world where there is now a new system called the reestablishment, so the world building is very minimal. I literally binged the whole series it is so good!!
