Great to hear from the jazz side of life and great players like Hugh. Absolutely wonderful also for stories and pics of Johnny Wadham. I spent a great year of grabbing buses and trains every sat morning to get to Dalkey for my drum lesson with The man. The first thing he asked me to do was a double stroke roll which I had previously learnt with Jon Murray at the Dublin Drum Centre and after finishing I got the nod of approval which gave me the courage to keep turning up. We would even have tea mid way😂. The last time I met him was when Hugh played whelans backing Georgie Fame with The wad who was his imperious self. and if I remember correctly Louis Stewart , Ritchie Buckley Jim Doherty……all played in the band. This interview brought back the memories.. Jazz sessions in Slatterys basement capel street..and being refused admission to hear Louis in a pub on talbot street cause our hair was too long😂 those were the days…….great work Brendan…..keep em coming🥁👍
