Your tutorial sounds amazing!! But for some reason I can't get my guitar to sound good with a capo, I don't understand why in makes any difference?

Thanks for watching :) When you play your guitar with a capo does it sound like the guitar is muted. Or do you mean it does not sound good in comparison with the tutorial? Also, a capo is used to save you playing barre chords.

Some people are confused about the positioning of the capo. In this tutorial the capo is on the 4th Fret, however this is because my guitar is tuned lower than standard tuning. For you to sound the same as me you put your capo on the 2nd fret. Im not sure if this the case but I thought id mention it. If not, stay at it and you will get it with practice! :)

Any tips on mastering strumming patterns?? I understand them, it's just difficult for me to keep the same pattern for the whole song

+Cassidy Brennan Make sure to have that slight gap after the second down strum. So DD (Slight Gap) UDU Also, play the strumming pattern with the strings muted until you can play it without even thinking about it, do that whilst watching tv for example. Let me know how you get on. I may do a strumming pattern video in the future to show a few useful strumming pattern, which will include the strumming pattern for this song.

Thanks for the vid. Question for you.... When my guitar is without the capo it's perfectly in tune. When the capo is on the 2nd fret it's totally out of tune. Why?

+Sara James if you make a c major shape. out your middle finger down one string and put your pinky finger on the 4th string (d string) 3rd fret. Mute the 6th string and leave the highest string open.

the strumming pattern is D D UDU so when I say 4 I mean you play the strumming pattern 4 times on it - so you would play D D UDU D D UDU D D UDU D D UDU. And If it is for 2 it is D D UDU D D UDU Hope this makes sense and helps :D

Question Why do you always have half or whole step down Why not just tune to standard

Good question! Basically there are many songs that require half step and whole step down tuning. So, to prevent tuning down and back up all the time I just leave it in whole step down tuning and use a capo to put it to standard or whatever other fret is needed for the song. To put a capo on the 2nd takes 1 second, but tuning every string back and forth takes more time. Saves time :)

its an f shape but with the lowest 6th string muted and the highest 1st string open. I play this F as an alternative to playing the F barre chord. So it will be x 3 3 2 1 0 as a tab, hope this helps
