That's the video that I HAD to see before starting racing in community league! But for all of newbies out there, I cannot stress enough how much success you can reach with stock aggressive setup and ONLY tire/brake duct changes! You don't need to know everything about setup, just keep temps in correct window (basically use every suggestion in this video) and run basic aggressive setup and follow proper racing line.. I lost so much time trying to make ,,faster setup" without taking proper racing line and running lower psi tires than recommended..

This is so much true, thanks for adding your feedback!! Very much appreciated :)

Yeah in mine time with the game I've found the same thing to be true. I come from less "sim" titles like GT Sport, so my driving skills aren't quite where they need to be for ACC. That said, on every track I've put the time in on the default aggressive setup with proper tyre pressures gets me on pace with the IRL world record and if I were better at driving I could easily be touching a second or so faster on the default aggressive.

Very useful information mate. Tire temps are the most crucial thing in racing, especially beginners find it hard to get them right. You can gain so much speed and consistency when keeping them in their temperature window. Opening / closing brake ducts is a mega tip, especially when you overshoot the temp window very often, as in my case. Without opening the brake ducts I often hit the 28 PSI mark. If I open them, its pretty easy to keep them at around 27.5 PSI. Thanks for sharing that information with us ;-)

Hi, there, thanks for the videos, i still have one problem while driving in ACC, sometimes with a slight touch, the car starts to turn and swerve about even when the tyres are at optimal conditions, that is in dry weather, and sometimes the tyres start over heating for no reason that i can tell. Can you explain on that, please? Thanks again :) Cheers

hi mate, did you changed you wheel from G29 to fanatec right? Now I have G29 and i'm thinking to upgrade to fanatec, really with fanatec i can do a great upgrade in terms of time laps? considering the price stuff, i mean fanatec CSL elite costs about 600€/700€ euros. do you advice fanatec or not at that price? i'm a good sim racer in GTS and now i'm growing up in ACC, tnx
@Boonatix3 жыл бұрын
Well I can only tell about my personal experience here, it was a tremendous upgrade... especially the clubsport pedals. The FFB on the wheelbase is a huge step up and you have the option to get different steering wheels so... if you really are into simracing and want to step up your game I can def recommend upgrading. Unfortunately I have no affiliate link to share yet ^^

When starting the race, does it use the same tyre set you used in qualifying, or does it automatically switch to a new set but with the pressures you set? Either way, it probably doesn't matter for most
@Boonatix3 жыл бұрын
Usually it keeps the set you just had in Quali, always check when you are lining up at the Grid before you start, that you have a fresh set - always better :)

@@Boonatix @Boonatix Thanks, I'll pay attention to it. :-) I'm still having trouble with too cold tires as I get into a server sometimes (resulting in lawn mowing), so I think I'm going to create base aggressive setups with corrected tyre pressures for every track. That way I'll get to optimum grip a lot quicker, what with the limited time you get for qualifying.
@paulcantlon45013 жыл бұрын
@@nimz7309 i've done the same thing. I set the same track and weather conditions on each track. 30° track temp. That way, when i first join, i can quickly check the track temp and adjust tyres accordingly. Eg. If i join at Spa and the track temp is 34°, i just decrease tyre pressures by .3 or .4 psi. There may be more fine tuning after that, but you can at least get up to pace within a lap or two without too much fuss.

At Zolder my left Rear Tyre is always too hot (90-100C) I tried to change camber an toe but it didn’t seem to help much
@Boonatix3 жыл бұрын
Some race tracks just are an exception, like either Zolder or Zandvoort... try playing with TC and maybe check Replay if you slide to much - overdriving the car can be a key factor!
@simracingmontreal10383 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Great video. When I race in GT4 I find that my rears overheat even though I am at optimum pressure (26.5) in dry conditions. Why is that? It starts after a few slides but I can't seem to get the temp down even if I drive more carefully. Anything to suggest?
@Boonatix3 жыл бұрын
26.5 is a bit to low, try to get them to 27 but open also the rear brake ducts by at least 1 click... and what TC are you using? Maybe you have to much wheelspin :)
@jakewilliams83283 жыл бұрын
I struggle with the exact same issue in gt4… I bet you find monza a nightmare on the rear left like I do lol. Seems like no matter what I do (neutral toe, more brake cooling etc.) I can’t keep it under control.. probably something to do with throttle aggression tbh

What does it mean when the IMO and hot readings are blank? I keep running into that problem.

You can only change between WET or DRY in the Fuel & Strategy Tab :)
