so many yurchenko fulls. I miss when it was worth doing the higher difficulty
@sollte1239 Жыл бұрын
It is worth points wise but it's also much more difficult and it's much more likely that you get injured when you do it....

You do realize only the top gymnasts were only ever doing difficult routines right? Like a simple vault like this was much more common worldwide than you realize

And meh-ly donc. Feels like 1996 again. Blech

This is the European championships. How many gymnasts were ever doing DTYs except the top ones? There are also gymnasts like Sarah Voss, who *can* do it but are saving themselves for Worlds.

Vault is regressing worldwide, but the rule plays a huge role to discourage athletes for trying vaults without mastering them.

I think the run to the table plays a huge factor in vault. I’m no expert on gymnastics but this is just what I’ve observed. Obviously the block too is important but remembering gymnasts like McKayla, Simone, Jordan, Rebecca, etc who run so fast in their approach, they seem to have the best vaults. It leads to great blocks, height and distance. It just looks like a lot of the gymnasts run slow and don’t get much momentum. Especially if they don’t get a good block

Crazy how most of these vaults wouldn't even make NCAA lineups on vault. Visser had a nice yurchenko full.

Vault stands out in NCAA, but other events aren't.

Americans are trained to be strong and powerful, so they overperform most Europeans on VT, a regular American girl has more muscles than the entire Dutch team lol

Seeing these vaults back to back make the run to the table really stand out. Seems like it would be a fun game drinking game-predict whether the vault is successful or not based on the run. You would watch the run (and maybe the hurdle), stop it before the skill, then guess if the vault was successful or not. Loser takes a shot. Or chew up and hold a mouthful of jalapeños (with seeds) for the non alcoholic version of the game.

LMAO 2:14 pretty, is when you finally start seeing ELITE level gymnastics and vaults. Baby.. smh. This quad is so weird.

It's just that bad DTY scores similar to a high, well-executed FTY with good distance.

Amalia G from Romania, you forgot her vault or did I miss it?
@pervincatuk Жыл бұрын
I think it wasn’t shown during the broadcast.

These ranks always show how the system is designed to prevent "lower" vaults from reaching top scores by undermining their execution. A perfect "lower" vault hardly will beat a dirty "higher" one, because judges tend to take the difficulty in account when giving execution scores (what should be unrelated things).
@cocoroni1031 Жыл бұрын
Height and distance are key factors on execution as well. Many FTY lacks them, except Sarah Voss's with a 9.3E.
@pedrojorge1912 Жыл бұрын
@@cocoroni1031 height and distance being key factors is part of the designed system I referred to. Many FTYs lack them because a gymnast with enough power will just prefer to upgrade it.

Por eso no suelen destacar en bóvedas, muchas corren lento y no tienen bloque decente.
