I used to use the broadsides for years until recently. The bug is that each cannonball has to be loaded one at a time so having quad or the ammo increase mod is now pointless and really reduces the overall dps. The best part is that it is highly ammo efficient, it takes 1 or 2 rounds to kill an enemy and then they drop between 10 to 24 rounds! Those can go straight into the ammo converter for all other ammo types.

Agreed. Just gotta make sure to stock up on a ton of fusion cores for your power armor if you make heavy guns your go to build

@RealJesseSmoke I have a quad explosive gatling lazer, I use power user and have about 50 cores already that's like 50.000 bullets 😂 power user doubles the time cores last on armour when maxed out plus electrically charged perk I think it's called basically they should last for weeks

@@mikev5486 Pistols should have their perk cards be 1-2 points each. I don't mind if pistols don't hit as hard as rifles if they are lighter, and that includes for perk points.

Glad Bethesda is taking a page from Helldivers 2 and buffing stuff. But tbh this is still pretty insufficient, 90% of the weaponry in this game severely lacks viability.

Literally 90% of the weapons are only ever used by new players because they don't have good guns yet as soon as you get the fixer, flamer, cremator, handmade or whatever it is you like using let's be real were never gonna swap back to say a western revolver or pipe pistol lol

I guess having the pepper shaker and the cold shoulder with the Enforcer perk might be the way to go considering both have been buffed and you need need the crippling effect 😅

Cold shoulder is worse than the gauss before the patch, did not need another nerf considering the gauss is getting a buff

@@grimm_tnt_1509 I don't take it as a nerf. IIRC, most enemies have some physical or energy resistance or both, but cold resistance is very very rare. So for most enemies it's a buff.

31 to 24 on the auto axe is a 22.5% reduction. That is significant, not sure why you’re minimizing it.

What gauss shotty needs is its range back! Too far to deal damage because it's a shotgun? Get up close to die to your explosive crits!! Balancing that mid range is a nightmare, specially during boss fights.

This would only make way too much sense. What is a gauss weapon? It’s something using magnets to propel a projectile way faster than gunpowder alone could ever achieve . Why then would its range be equal to a typical bird shot shell? Doesn’t make sense. The gauss shotgun should work like a sniper rifle with a spread, not like other shotguns.

I love my black powder character, but I gotta tell you playing one well requires more than just pointing at a build. You cant use them the same way you can commando weapons. This is more my experience as to why they aren't popular because you can't just run and gun. Therefore, it falls behind in popularity. But, I still do quite well -even in public events.

Also, the Pepper Shaker has a bad interaction with Explosive legendary effects. It wants to constantly reload the mag even though it says it's full. It shoots like 2-3 shots then reloads again. A buddy and myself both had it happen to us.

I don’t know if they will. It’s been a thing since it was introduced as it’s a creation engine bug rather than an issue with the weapon. I’ve had it happen with the Mr Handy blades too

To be honest a lot of these changes in my own opinion are being directed towards the new raids mode as you will need to utilise vats a lot for certain sections of it. Shouldn't really be the driving factor because of the mode overall as any Vats adjustments should be directed towards the overall combat scenarios throughout each mode and free roam exploration
