I noticed you did not mature your fondant. i mean, you didn't leave it for some hours before using. Or you had already prepared one in advane.

Yes, I didn't leave my fondant to set, I only do that when I have much volume cake to cover so mix a set aside, in this cake I had to finish covering and decoration same day, no time to leave fondant to mature, still come out sharp and smooth

Standard measurement requirement, better you have left over than insufficient liquid for your mixture, You can use the left over to mix fondant for gum paste and other decorations Glycerine help combine the fondant and prevent fondant from breaking(cracking)
