wait so the boss debuff counts them all as x suit, which debuffs their wildness, making them not count as x suit, meaning they shouldnt be debuffed...

Paradoxes are annoying to program. They are probably programmed as all suits when set as a wild, meaning that even when "debuffed" they are still registered as all suits for the debuff, but the hand then reads the base card, which has a suit.

Does anyone like wild cards asked the professor? No, they are amazingly bad, very few use cases and more often than not the main effect of being wild is hitting a boss debuff. you also only get 1 which is kinda insulting because you get the same number of your desired suit from a suit change arcana, or a death. If you got the standard 2 i could seem them doing work in straight flush builds. (but they still have 4 bosses debuffing them and can't have other enhancements.)

I agree that Wild cards are the least aesthetically pleasing visual effect of most of the card enhancements/editions/etc i kind of wish there’d be a re-design for them

these challenges are fun to watch! but i continue to be blown away by the design philosophy employed. some of these feel very railroaded when perhaps a lighter hand wouldve been more effective design-wise

Fan submitted challenges! While the creativity is admirable, not everyone has the same game design chops CC has, and I'm basically the only playtester for most of these. I try to be as constructive as I can with my review and commentary, but some designs admittedly need more polish than others.

I'd prefer if wild cards were less smeared and more, striped maybe? Or quartered, like someone cut a card of each suit and taped them together. Its hard for me to register wild as wild the way they look.

Loving all the Balatro content! My challenge proposal: Must score within 20% of the required blind score Start with 2 eternal green jokers 5 hands per round 5 discards per round Only high card will score (is that too harsh? My idea is that you need to play lots of high cards to get the blind beat, but that also increases green joker mult, so you need to balance with discards) Been enjoying the community challenges, keep up the good content!

If I remember correctly, the 6 suits mod has a slightly different definition for “wild” cards, where instead of saying “is considered to be every suit simultaneously”, it says “can be used as any suit”. This is probably to prevent any hand containing a wild card to qualify as a “spectrum” (a hand that contains 5 different suits), but as a side effect, this also makes wild cards immune to boss debuffs. Please correct me if there’s an error.

I do know that the wild cards in the 6 suits mod works differently to the wild cards in the vanilla game due to the new type of hand called “spectrum”

Frankly, i would prefer "all cards are debuffed". Its about as tricky overall but with a smoother difficulty curve. Easy gay flushes or flush houses in the rounds between where you actually have to play, ykno. Plus the whole "you can just get cards that arent wild and then the challenge invalidates itself" thing is... cute but weird. That said, some of the natural boss blinds might be rough...
