All Xenogears on-foot & Gear Deathblows

Every on-foot and in-Gear DB, including 'Deathblower' DBs, Hyper DBs, & Omnigear DBs.
Recorded at 1080p on Retroarch using my own texture mod, "Perfect ART Works".
Reupload because I missed Bart's TTTTX before. You'll notice the difference in emulation to true 4:3 & the 1.4 version of my mod's UI now. Initially uploaded in September '23 before I had finished and released the 1.0.

took me like 2 hours but i finally got the graphics pack working :D if only we could fix those awful shadows...

😁👏👏👏 Are you referring to the black on-foot combat shadows that are all split up and choppy like they are in this video? If so, someone just shared a fix with me recently (it's a helpful setting that'll be added to my Instructions file in 1.6 of the mod) Quick Menu> Core Options> PGXP (Precision Geometry Transform Pipeline)> PGXP 2D Geometry Tolerance: 0px

@@linnaealyn yes! those shadows, and yeah i actually rooted around in the menu and found that and tinkered with things a bit and it helped a little, also reduced the long thin holes in the environment, buuuut it also made the alignment of some of the 2d textures a little wonky, like the text...i might play around with it a bit more. thank you for responding!

I made this one. And since I did this video I've updated it a lot, improving the battle textures, expanding on it by replacing more of the background Gear battle textures, and then also making a Japanese version of the mod. Here's the new mod page over on Godsibb: godsibb.net/index.php?threads/xenogears-perfect-art-works-paw-retroarch-texture-pack.414/ It only works through Retroarch; I have yet to find another emulator that has the option for this kind of texture replacing.

What are the requirements for Elly dark diva? Only infinity deathblow i never used. And i have high leveled her. Maybe my rom was bugged?

Not sure if there are any specific requirements for it. Unless it requires certain normal on-foot DBs to be unlocked before you can use that one? idk

@@linnaealyn i had every char deathblows and i forced her to be almost lvl 80. Never appeared for me her dark diva.

@@DonRamon-rf5zt That's odd. Yeah, you should definitely have it then. Did you rip your discs yourself or did you pirate the rom from someplace in particular? And/or have you patched it with the XG 2.0 or PWB mods?

Hol up, those are their Japanese voices?! I don't mean to offend, but it's slightly less impactful than English. And I don't say that often.

Yes, this is using the Perfect Works Build mod which changes the voices back to Japanese. Specifically done due to the fact that they're retranslating everything including voiced cutscenes, which means it *has* to be in Japanese for the cutscenes and in turn all voices are changed to Japanese across the board in order to have consistency. I only played the unmodded game once before playing Xenogears 2.0 and then PWB nowadays, so I've gotten used to both. I especially love the Japanese because one of my favorite VAs, Hikaru Midorikawa, voices Fei. Digressing, its a bit strange that out of everyone they only kept Elly's unchanged, even though by comparison Emeralda doesn't say any words but they changed hers, doing an impression of the Japanese battle yells.
