What I like most about Mikey Chen is his honesty. He says it as it is, if the food sucks he'll say it sucks.

One of my favourite dishes I've ever had was at Elizabeth's in New Orleans. They did something called Eggs Redneck which was like eggs benedict but with country ham for the meat and a base of fried green tomatoes instead of the english muffin. Truly an enlightened combination.

Mike as always enjoy your videos. My grandma always fried chicken in an iron skillet (not deep fried) and after turning once she would put the lid on for about 12 minutes then take it off to crisp up the skin/coating. We always bought smaller whole chicken and disjointed it ourselves and soaked in buttermilk with seasonings over night. Every part was used including the neck, back and giblets. Wish I could make you and Christine some!

Next time in Atlanta you should check out Heirloom Market BBQ. It is both Korean and BBQ, but it is not Korean BBQ. It is a married couple. He is from Texas and cooks the meat like you would expect in Texas. She is from Korea and makes the sauce using Korean flavors. They serve it with Korean style banchan pickles instead of the usual dill pickle slices. It is so good.
