FWIW. The correct pronunciation of risotto is ree SAWt toh. The American and UK pronunciations are incorrect. Due to celebrity chefs I suppose. I'm American but of Italian descent. My grandfather was a chef and born in Italy. I grew up in a bilingual household, and have been eating risotto since I was able to feed myself. I can assure you that this is correct. As a Swiss person, the Chinese-cheese fondue combo is rather sacrilegious, but whatever tastes good to you is allowed 🙂. I think the sauces you were given are a bit basic. There’s more creative stuff out there. I know that the food in Switzerland is expensive, but generally, the quality is very high. Especially when it comes to meat. And there’s a high standard of animal welfare - something I appreciate as a conscious meat eater.
