I love that DB mentions our fear of eating eggs raw 😂. Guess enough people commented about how eggs in the states are definitely not treated the same as they are in Japan. Also that music selection is all over the place, but some fire choices for American songs!
@pinkmonkeybird2644 Жыл бұрын
I don’t really get the egg phobia; lots of Americans love runny yolks, myself included. But I’m fortunate to have friends who have chickens as pets, plus I live near a humane farm that sells free ranging chicken and duck eggs. I know they are free ranging because you see them in the fields and ponds. So I eat semi-raw eggs all the time. Or onsen eggs.
@badonpurpose8930 Жыл бұрын
@@pinkmonkeybird2644 you say you don't get it but you also mentioned a lot of things that make you more likely to trust eggs lol. i've gotten salmonella at least 3 or 4 times from undercooked/raw eggs. that's why they always taught you growing up to not eat raw cookie dough (though pillsbury makes it safe to eat now i guess). commercial egg producers do not care about testing their chickens or eggs for salmonella. same reason you don't eat chicken that isn't 100% cooked. beef cooked rare is fine (with beef you're worried about e.coli, and you can get it to the temperature necessary to neutralize it before the beef is cooked all the way through), but you have to completely cook chicken to kill the salmonella. but raw chicken is the same as raw eggs in japan. they're rigorously tested and taken care of to avoid illness (or being a carrier).
@jade_ottsel Жыл бұрын
@@badonpurpose8930 it’s actually not just eggs you have to watch out for in raw cookie dough; it’s also the flour, flour is raw and can contain e.coli, that’s why if you make raw cookie dough for consumption you must heat treat the flour!
@pjs232 Жыл бұрын
@@badonpurpose8930 Yeah, American food safety standards are a lot lower than they are in most of the other 1st world countries (America tends to prioritise corporate profit over anything else- and safety is expensive for the producers). I'm from the UK, and when they talked about lowering our food safety standards a few years ago so they could import cheap American chickens (which don't meet our standards, or anywhere in the EU for that matter) there was a big backlash from the public and it never went ahead. If you look up the stats, the standards really do make a big difference to the levels of food poisoning around so hopefully America will wise up at some point.

In some places it seems like a strange societal taboo to eat at a restaurant alone and I think that's a real shame. I think people should be able to go to restaurants by themselves to have some good food and have a nice time on their own whenever they feel like without the judging eyes of others. I appreciate a restaurant like this and thank you DancingBacons for sharing it with us.
@leila13dnd Жыл бұрын
Second this! For me it's mostly my own social anxiety because the tables are always set for multiple people, so sitting alone always makes me feel like I'm taking space away from other customers that they could seat there. Luckily I usually manage to tell myself that that's stupid and that if I wasn't sitting there the table would just be empty.

Chop the onions in bite size pieces one ore two and for two onions I say around 6 minutes in 1000 kilowatt microwave. Maybe longer if they aren't perfectly cooked. then you can add them to dishes like baking sausage with microwaved peppers or with a chicken or with shaved beef.
