Thank you so much! I just drove home with the oil light on, Had oil in it, recently changed seemed to be getting oil to the rockers.. Watched your Video, traced the wire and there was a bad contact! wohoo!!

So thankful to have found a youtuber who does 4d56 repairs in english! This leads me to ask, I am having very similar issue, however when my engine is at idle, the light is on, but it is flashing not very bright. I drove the vehicle a little bit, and under load the light seems to go away until I return to idle. Would this be signs of my sensor on its way out? I have never had this issue until I did my transmission fluid change, but I don't think that's related so I have no concern about the oil pump? I'm going to try your diagnostic methods from the video soon enough, I just wanted to see what you think Sir

Does it do when the engine is hot or not?

@@MrDIYer it will do it at idle when cold, and then when I drove it went away, I didn’t drive long enough to get it hot though, since I was unsure about the oil pressure I didn’t want to cause extra damage

If thats the case its just most probably the oil pressure sending unit But just the same. Just follow the video to be sure. Good luck.

How do I know if it's oil sending unit or oil pressure valve. I have terrible amount of oil all under my engine. But oil dip stick shows good.

There is a little sensor in the sending unit that goes off of oil pressure. As long as the pressure is high, there will be no light

Mr. DIYer I have a service manual for the Montero from the same era and a MK2 2.5 engine manual I use. But nothing for the MK1 in particular. I checked at Haynes and other places too. I was just wondering what you are looking at here in the video. And by the way I like your videos they are bloody informative, I hope your MK1 breaks down more often so we could have more of these. lol.

Hi sir.. very imformative po video nyo.. ask ko lang po sana kung ano po kaya problema nung sakin. Kakapalit ko lang po ng oil presure sensor. Kapag start ko po sya namamatay po Yung ilaw. Pero mga 20 to 30 mins na umaandar umiilaw po sya ulit. Tapos pag tinapakan ko yung gas. Nawawala po yung ilaw.

My starter keeps going out on 02 Hyundai Santa Fe. 2 brand new batteries 2 new starters and it's doing same thing. I thing it's the signal wire on starter but no way to explain to mechanic!!

I suggest you need to have you wirings.checked. there must be a short or bad ground somewhere.
