Catch can is better than nothing but the real problem stems from the EGR and then the oil vapor combining with the exhaust gas in the intake.

I am not removing my EGR. Thank you for a very thorough explanation. I'll stick cleaning EGR every 12 months and use Cataclean. 👏👍👍👍

Great video! I struggled to understood how to verify 30 degrees. Now: The reason I am about to put rtv on my gasket (for the first time) is because I change that silly gasket WAY too often. Another mechanic told me it’s because it’s an awful gasket and needs rtv.

Non egr will outperform any egr equipped engine because once the egr engine components are clogged with soot it will no longer run or provide any reliable power & you have not told us what happens when your egr cooler ruptures or leaks coolant into your combustion chambers?Tell the whole story 🤷‍♂️

Catch cans are not needed!! Y'all are catching vapors that are then cooled down as a liquid in the can😂. My 2015 F150 Ecoboost has over 130k miles. Zero problems, intake valves have never been cleaned and no catch can they look good. Just change the oil every 5k miles with the filter, use only Tier 1 gasoline change the pcv valve, spark plugs plugs coolant every 50k miles! 3rd generation mechanic and engine builder.
