Good luck getting the Candy XL, but you could try and trade a ton of them away to someone who's caught Pokemon 100km+ away. Master League takes commitment.

Gym Raids for legendaries nd basic gmax raids

When I got back into the game in 2023, I mostly played during Spotlight Hours, Community Days, and Raid Days. I didn't have (and still don't) a ton of time to play, so these times let me optimize the candy gain and I'd usually nab a few at level 30 that I could evolve right away and use, without using Stardust. Raids are a pay-to-win system, unless you're patient, but you can play them strategically to get strong Pokemon that don't require too much to make them useful against other raid bosses. You'll get Rare Candy from doing raids, which can be used for any Pokemon, so even 1 and 3 star raids are worth using your free daily pass on if you can't make it to a 5-star or Mega raid. To take a raid boss to level 30, which the max I'd suggest for a new player, you'll need about 80 candy. Not all Legendary Raid Bosses are worth the investment, though. Just keep watching my videos and you'll be steered in the right direction ;) Mega Raids are more important at first, because when you Mega Evolve a Pokemon, you'll get a candy boost for 8 hours for anything you catch that matches the type of the Mega Pokemon. That really helps to get a new account built up. The December Com Day is overwhelming, honestly. If you're planning to spend any money, I'd recommend just increasing your item storage and then stocking up on PokeBalls before the weekend. Even if you can play somewhere with a lot of PokeStops, you'll run out if you're catching everything you see. The best Pokemon to catch this December Community day are the ones I highlighted (the starters and Beldum). They're powerful attackers when evolved. Most of the other Pokemon are geared towards PVP, which is a long and hard road if you want to really compete. There are plenty of Pokemon you can build and run in the Great League (CP cap of 1500) that don't require Legacy moves, so don't sweat it if you skip over a lot of what's available during the Dec Com Day. You could just tap on everything to shiny check. That can be enough to make the Com Day fun.

I didn't mention Max Battles. If you're out and see any of the starters in Dynamax Battles, you may as well do some for free and use Pinap Berries when catching to get some extra candy for them. Just hang on to your best few. Don't power up or evolve them until you have a need for them.

Most of what's available is geared towards PVP, so if you're not into that, I'd just go for the starters and Beldum, and try to evolve some to get the special move. Having them with the move, even with bad stats, will make them more valuable for trades. So, look for your local community and try to add a bunch of them to your friends list. It takes a while, but getting to Best and then Lucky friends means you can swap those Pokemon with crummy stats in a lucky trade and end up with something great.

@@PokeeSeanGO There's very few players in my area unfortunately, but I will work on it! Like you say in the videos, it's a game that requires patience. I'm trying to get better at pvp, and since I just picked the game back up a few weeks ago, I don't have many usable pvp pokemon, so I would like to get a few, but I think there are too many to focus on all at once (I will only be able to play part of the time anyway). Mankey and tynamo are the only ones for the whole event I already have a good number of haha (and I have a decent shadow beldum but I can't get the move for it anyway til the next rocket event)

@@aaronjosephs2560 Mankey is great because it's a common spawn anyway, so getting the candy and decent PVP IVs is easier than a lot of others. It really is a patience game! Check out PVPoke.com for the rankings, it's a good resource. DanOttawaPOGO on KZbin is also good if you're looking for someone who keeps it real and gives good PVP advice.
