We received ours yesterday and proceeded to setting it up. Things went pretty well until it was time to program it. I don't know who wrote the instructions or designed the circuits but we found it not very intuitive. Once we did get it programmed it seemed to be working just fine. We sat outside this morning waiting for it to dispense the food. Our cat wasn't scared of the motor whirling and when the food dropped in the bowl she started to eat and eat. We have our portion set to #4. I wish the speaker was louder. I programmed the sound by starting the recorder, tapping on the side of a can of food with a spoon while calling her. @@AllAboutCatsYT We did up the amount being fed from 4-6 and 4-5. This morning Snowball was sitting facing the feeder waiting for it to come on. When it did and she heard the weak sound of me tapping a can of cat food with a spoon and calling her she was ready to dive in. She prowls all night in our yard and in the front of the house. Since she is pure white she can't sneak up on much of anything.

My cats get several small meals of both dry food and wet food, so this would be good for the kibble. It also looks nice. In a way, it reminds me of an Apple product in its design. I may give this one a try!

I do love that angled bowl. I have the Arf pet feeder and it’s a shallow bowl that’s one height. I notice my cat pushes food along the edges of the bowl while she eats.

As for the tipping problem, this would be solved I would think by using some clear tape and securing the opening top on both sides. You will want to fold the tape on one side at the bottom so the stick part come together which leaves the none sticky part where you can peel off the tape to open the top. This make take a way from the modern attractive look but it will solve the tipping problem.

Hope you see this but how do you remember to check the canister is not empty. A couple of times my poor Milo we be quiet the talker and I’m thinking he’s just being lovable, but he’s really telling me he’s hungry and his bowl is empty or hasn’t dispensed anything. When I check the canister, it’s empty. It’s still give off the feeding greeting, but I have no way noticing my poor bit has no food😭

I want an automatic feeder with stainless steel and a raised bowl. My 25lb Maine Coon male is too big to eat out of these low bowls, he tends to puke when he does. I also only feed my cats out of ceramic or stainless bowls, never plastic.

Hey there. Each portion measures just under one tablespoon, so that would add up to two mealtimes with 5-6 portions each, depending on the size of the kibble and how much comes out in each portion. I agree that the portion-based system is a little bit difficult to get accustomed to.

When I was researching feeders, pretty much all of the non-smart feeders have a max of four feedings. I guess there’s not enough room on the display. The smart feeders are unlimited I think, but I’m wary of their apps because most have terrible support and fail to connect according to reviews. A lot of the servers are in China too.

Hi there! It might be a problem. My cats didn't try that route, but I did attempt to poke up in there to access the food inside and couldn't. I can't guarantee, though, that a cat wouldn't be able to access the food dispensing mechanism via the chute. Again, the insecure lid of the 4L hopper will be an issue for food-motivated cats, so you might prefer Petlibro's 6-liter feeder with a locking lid: petlibro.com/products/petlibro-easy-feed-6l-automatic-pet-feeder

Yes the lid lock is great. Set your portion to OO to eliminate a feeding. Important to WEIGH your cats! You don’t want diabetes which by the way pet Libra has a solution for, see how that works?😕 please don’t over feed your cats. They will thank you with a longer life.🎉

I have this feeder but my cat learned to open it by pushing it and let it fall. Then the lid will open after falling and the cat has a buffet. How to prevent it? I tried to stick it to the wall using some magic tape but it is not strong enough.

Margaret, that's a difficult question. I think the roaches are probably getting in there because the chute at the bottom is relatively open compared to other automatic feeders. This is almost identical to the TTPet feeder I got off of Amazon. The feeder I got was bluetooth enabled with an app for my phone. However, the app stopped working a day or two after. This makes me wonder if someone didn't buy a whole bunch of these, stick a cheap bluetooth scheduler on it and sell it on Amazon.

Yes, appropriately feeding multiple cats with an automatic feeder is challenging. I would recommend getting just one or two feeders and programming them to dispense a number of meals throughout the day, then letting your cats sort out the details of mealtime themselves. If your cats are on different diets or you're concerned about one of them eating the others' meals, you might have some problems, and I certainly wouldn't consider an automatic feeder the ideal solution for multi-cat homes, but you can make it work.

I’m not sure if you’d be interested. But I’m was looking into getting my first automatic cat feeder and first thing that popped up was this $40 automatic one that didn’t look half bad. But the only problem is that it has no reviews. It appear to be a relatively new listing so that could be part of the reason. I’m not sure I’ll buy it but I’m really interested to know more about it at the same time. I mean surely someone else has had to seen this and bought it so idk why no one left a review. The brand is Vremi, and it’s just listed as their automatic cat and dog feeder. Based off the listing it appear to have all the basic features you could want from the low end feeder. It has a window to see food levels, 6L tank, secure latch, the bowl appear to be plastic but not too deep or big for cats, voice recording, battery and plug in, portions are 10grams and goes up to 39 portions, up to 4 meals, and it says it has an infrared sensor to prevent food getting stuck. I assume that to detect if the bowl is full before dispensing? I’m just sorta curious what the deal is with the feeder. Is it a contender on the cheap end and does it deserve to be tried?
