Realistically as a god Callisto would have killed Xena instantly, but since they couldn’t kill Xena they had to turn Callisto from being a sinister, clever villain to a dumb goddess who gets buried under rocks time and time again. At least they redeemed the character in the Ides of March.

@@gnarlycat Also, remember that she once told Xena during the Dahak era that she could kill her in an instant but chose not to, instead opting to fight her with a sword. She doesn't desire Xena's death; rather, she wants to toy with her. Killing Xena would end her funny, and Xena would be reborn in a different body with no memories. etc. This dynamic is akin to the relationship between the Joker and Batman, where the Joker stole the powers of a fifth dimension imp and became a god, but even after attaining god-like powers he refrains from killing Batman. This was exemplified when Superman suggested to the Joker that, on a subconscious level, he doesn't truly wish for Batman's demise.

Only because she gained the power to kill the Gods, although even then, it shouldnt have worked. They could literally curse her without even being in the area. I have seen Ares make someone disappear in a burst of fire. Why couldnt they do that with Xena?

Zeus literally threw thunder bolts from the sky and killed all the golden hinds, valasca and calisto literally flicked their finger and Xena flew like 50 feet. I understand xena had to win because it’s her show but it’s like the gods powers were very limited when faced her. Artemis landed an arrow and xena pulled it out and threw it back and she died instantly. Xena took blast and got back up but one blast killed Poseidon. Makes no sense

@@antoineberry2977 Makes no sense at all...but of course the screenwriters wanted Xena to win, so suddenly the Gods forgot how to use their powers, i guess. Also....why cant the Gods bring Zeus back to life? Hades controls the underworld, and everyone that dies is under his control. Why cant they bring him back, and give him some ambrosia? Why cant any of the living Gods do so, because i have seen them bring the dead back to life. Usually, they need permission from Hades, but i think in this case, they would have it. Sometimes they take matters into their own hands, so none of it makes sense. Also, why didnt the Gods take the baby when Xena's mom had her while Xena wasnt around? Would have been easy to do. Why didnt they explode the entire building the baby was in? It seems crazy that they actually lost. They could even stop time, so im wondering why none of them did that....

Callisto would rise to the surface again regardless of how she went down in this episode. Velasca however, would go on to spend eternity rock solid, never to see the day of light again. She could've been freed just like Callisto, but she was just too destructive to reason with, and would've likely been an unnecessary burden on the main villains of the third season, and disposed of again for it.

Actually if Kevin had not died suddenly and tragically as he did Velasca's returns was going to be the reunion episode then Melinda got on OC and Lucy was on Tarzan also felt not enough time had passed but needing to beat Velasca would have been the reason Gabrielle went to bring xena back see with out Ares being there to help it kinda just would not have made sense though I suppose Aphrodite could have tried i just don't see any of the surviving Gods given a hoot the way Ares would have

Velasca was a villain with a lot of potential, it is a shame they wouldn’t bring her back. Callisto was freed from the lava-pit by Hope, any other being could had also freed Velasca. Wish we would had seen more scenes with Melinda Clarke versus Hudson Leick & Lucy Lawless 🫶🏼

Lucy Lawless was the perfect "phukin" Xena. Loved that TV show, hated the way it all ended. I wish someone in Hollywood would bring Xena back to TV but please don't do any lesbian "chit" with it because I know there's been rumors about Xena and "Gabbie." Lucy Lawless looked like the comic book character and had enough height for the role. That's the hard part...finding a woman who actually looks like comic book Xena and is close to 6'0" tall with it. That is important...characters have to look right, even in outfit otherwise it will be an instant fail. Xena = God Slayer
