Asalamu alaykum. Great video. Also ArRahman is mentioned by : Ibrahim Haroon Sulayman Maryam Israelites of Antioch Basically what iam trying to say is that Rahman is the Quranic version of the Tetragrammaton as it has 4 letters(and also could be five with the ali). Also the name Rahman is pre Islamic and was used in Arabia by yemeni Jews&christians. Plus they used the name Rahman instead of Adonai in reference to the Tetragrammaton Also Surah 25:60 explains that the pagans of Mecca never knew ArRahman. As Rahman was the God of Bani Isra’il(Aka the God of the Muslims) Just wanted to add my two pence. Salamu alaykum 🤝

Aslam o alaikum, MashaAllah, your channel is very beneficial for learning arabic. For الرحيم my understanding is (when you also search Quran for الرحيم not رحيم ) is for believers. From search result whenever it is used as noun الرحيم is for believers. Wsalam

Wa alaykum asalam, Yes in most cases الرحيم when used with forgiveness is for those who believe, but in some instances it is not this way. As an example we have the following: [This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful ( Al Raheem), That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware. Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe. Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft. Surat Yaseen 36:5-8

SubhanAllah! I was taught that raheem was for believers exclusively and rahman for all. you make some interesting points from the Quran! Is this a classical opinion ?

Yes, Imam Al Razi and other mention that Rahman has greatness associated with it and closely linked to the divine name Allah.
