Thanks Rick that was very interesting seeing the audio and carrier signal differentiated like that. Gives me a much better understanding of the oscilloscope.

Thank you for disconnecting the Signal Generator & showing us the CRO attached to a real circuit, and showing us what you can see. I don't know if it might be possible to plug a suspect valve into the radio, to demonstrate how the CRO can help you to pinpoint a faulty component?

Thanks CameramanLink That and several requests to do more basic stuff. It does not have a z-axis but it does have a high quality oscillator for the horizontal.

Great video, Rick. I use a Techtronic 475 so this video is just what I needed. Cleared up a lot of questions I've had about what and why I see what I do...

Very well put together video, succinct and methodical. Thank you. Have you a preference for analogue scopes over digital, and if so for what reason?

The probe I'm using has two markings X1 and X10. When I'm working with transistor are other low voltages sometimes I just use a straight wire.

Rick, As usual, great job, my friend. I really like that o'scope. I was leaning toward a Leader scope when the Tek 465 fell into my lap for $60.00. It was a deal I couldn't refuse. Terrific job on the demo. Will there be a "Basic Oscilloscope 201"...like how to utilize the time base to determine frequency? This piker could stand a quick refresher. Regards, John

Thank you I watched your other video and couldn't see what knob you were using to switch between audio and IF. I had hooded my E200C Signal Generator and had to Max out the timing to see the carrier, now I know why. It also showed me that a i had a bad filter cap that was new as it was very leaky and I had a nice AC sinewave coming down the lead as well. Very informative and I'm starting to use my Tek 2215 more and more when I rebuild sets. I'd usually peak cans by ear but now visually seeing them is nice.

I always use an isolation transformer on the chassis I am testing. I made a diagram of the setup that I have on my workbench and it is in my free e-book. You can find a link to the download page on my KZbin channel.

Nice video's as a new watcher to you. How do I isolate my oscilloscope to what I am testing? I want to try out some of your ideas on a transistor radio as I do not have a tube radio or amplifier. Nice video series thou.

Thanks 1fornone I have analog and digital volt-ohm meters, capacitor meters, current meters, watt and SWR meters, and more. But if I was limited for some reason, that I could only have one item of test equipment. it would be an oscilloscope.

Almost as good of a deal here. TEK 2230 DSO on the factory matching rolling cart with front cover and manuals for 78 dollars. It was at an industrial liquidator. I went in there initially to get a deal on an office chair. The Tek was off to the side with some projector equipment. Who uses projectors anymore? I asked about it and the salesman said the EKG is $100 but it doesn't work. I rolled it over to a power outlet and plugged it in. Read the manual and got it to POST, it showed all good.

Can you connect the scope directly to the 300 volt plate??? I still dont understand what I can hook too without damaging the scope...and when looking at the 455khz signal..should it be nice and round at the tops,,, if not the radio's IF is not set right..is this true??? thanks...
@AllAmericanFiveRadio8 жыл бұрын
The first thing to do would be to refer to the specifications of your oscilloscope. All of my oscilloscopes can handle thousands of volts. But as a precaution I always set the probes for the scopes at their highest times value, depending on the probe can be X10 or more. Then if I need to I can change the probe settings down to X1.
