In this video I dive into setting up your live stream through an AUX BUS to get a designated mix for your Live Stream on your Behringer X32 console. This has benefits of a specific mix, but also effects, EQ, Compression and limiting can all be specified to your Live Stream. You know, it's not the knowledge you give out, plenty can do that, but it's the way you impart the knowledge. So many people know their stuff but can hardly put 2 words together. You and Drew are masters at that. I use Cubase and Dom Segalas and Chris Selim are the masters of explaining that. Carry on.

Hi the nail on the head! We just started going back to church, 3rd week coming up. Not every one likes the new “normal”, so they want use to continue placing the service online, but now we are trying to do streaming. New territory for us Neophytes. So far we’ve been using the mic on the camera, but it’s not the best sound. In the past we’ve tried to feed our house mix in to the camera, but they said the vocals were terrible, off pitch and too loud... Your explanation of having a separate mix for the streaming made sense. We’ll give it a try. Thanks Rocky Starland South Haven First Baptist Church, Michigan

This is leaps and bounds definitely the way to go for houses of worship with this desk or similar. A little more work for the engineer but much more satisfying. Also another great example of why a real engineer needs to be hired as opposed to a volunteer who is not an engineer by trade.

Make sure that the BUS is not being sent to the Main LR mix. If you are on the console, go to the BUS and select it. Then, go to the left of the screen and make sure the Stereo LR Bus button is not orange.

If your machine is a Mac then I would look towards the console for your routing. My guess is you are on a Windows machine and your console routing is probably correct. For the windows machine to recognize the console you need to go to Behringer's website and download/install the X-USB driver. I discuss where to find this in the first two minutes of this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5rNoWx9eZKaipI If you already have the driver installed you may need to address your security settings which I discuss for both Mac and Windows in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXOrqX-En8iNsNE

Hey there, I was wondering if you know or someone can chime in, how can you get the effects of the board into a daw? I can send every track into my studio one daw and visa versa back to the console track for track. I can even get the effects from the software on to the X32. Just not the other way.🤔
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 жыл бұрын
Assuming you are trying to get the onboard FX (reverbs or delays) recorded into your DAW you will need to think/do the following things. 1) keep in mind you only have 32 channels to send across USB. If you want to record an effect return it will be in stereo and take up 2 channels. This brings you down to 30 usable channels and so one per effect you want to record. 2) The easiest way (if you have two available outs to use) is go to Routing > Outs, set two outs (say 13/14) to be sourced by the Direct FX Out for your desired effect. Then set these outs in the user outs section so you can route them out your Card. I hope this helps and is not more confusing than the question.

Hi AllamHouse, I followed all the steps in the video. But it seems our overall volume, mainly for the mics is too quiet. Is there a way to change this other than messing with the gain for each channel? Our in room mix aounds great, it's just the live stream sound that is too quiet. I'm using an xlr out on OUT 6 and 7. This is tied to mixbus 9 and 10. Thanks!

This is a common issue that many run into. The short version is your amps are cranked up too much so you compensate with lower gain. Check this video here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4PNgWZ_gKuZp68

@@AllamHouse We finished our first livestream last week. And thank you for your assistance! Our volume is definitely boosted after adjusting the gain (still trying to find a compromise on this, since we get a higher level of feedback in the house). The stream audio, running 2 XLR to our atem hd studio, still sounds very raw. And for some reason when I apply effects to the stream mixbus, they don't seem to add much to the stream mix. Are there any changes I can make to have it sound less like a direct feed? I also noticed you said amps, should we have our xlr lines from the stage running into amps before reaching the X32? Right now they run direct to our X32. Apologies for so many questions, I'm my church's creative director. I'm a video person, audio is my weakness.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I just installed an M32R Live in to our church and was looking to set up a seperate mix for our live stream. I have the in house sounding great, now I need to get the live stream audio to the same level. Coming from an analogue board I was limited to one mix (the 2 AUX sends were already used for our monitor mixes) so once people started coming back in house I've been struggling with trying to get some sort of balance. With the new hardware and this channel I've learned a lot! Thank you!

@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 10 күн бұрын
If the goal is to send your broadcast mix (built on a stereo MixBUS pair) out the console across USB and into a streaming device then you can use the User OUTS section to build a custom setup which takes your broadcast mix out User OUT 1/2 and then go to Routing > Card and select "User OUT 1-8" to be matched with Card Outputs 1-8. This will take away any need of setting the mix into the Routing > Outs area that it sounds like are all taken up.

One more question about OBS looking for Outputs 1 and 2. On my OBS, that works, but I also see on the aux mic dropdown menu in OBS (in addition to 1-2), (all BEHRINGER X USB) IN 7-8, IN 5-6, IN 3-4, and IN 1-8. Looks like in OBS you can now select additional outputs in addition to 1-2. Just a curiosity for me, but looks like the selection has been expanded.

Yes, that is the correct video that I was discussing. It became a progression during the start of the covid era. Initially, people just needed a way to connect their audio to the stream. Then they realized it didn’t sound great so I started discussing AUX Bud and Matrix approaches. Honestly, this video here is the most common approach that I still use in my venue today since we only have one sound engineer to handle both FOH and Stream mixes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLssi=g0PWIYbtG8pbXH7t

I NEED HELP!! Ive got my stero bus live stream mix set up... Ive got different instruments panned... but it seems as though my livestream mix is still coming out mono? Can you walk me through those steps to make sure my livestream stereo buses are being sent stereo?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 4 ай бұрын
Here are the things I would do: 1) Select the left Bus and confirm your other bus is linked. This provides a hard L/R pan setup for your buses and allows them to move and work together. 2) Toss some headphones into the headphone jack on the console and hit the SOLO button over your live stream bus. Confirm the "mono" button isn't pushed on the console (found in the monitor section) and make sure you are hearing a proper stereo signal in the headphones. 3) Go to Routing > Outs and confirm you have both buses set as sources for different outs. 4) If you are running XLR or using AUX outs, confirm your cables are plugged into the correct outputs and make sure the cables are set to provide a stereo signal. 5) At this point you have to look into the device on your streaming device to make sure it isn't summing your mix to mono thinking it is just a single mic. To help any further I would need to know what gear you are running for streaming and the cables you have to further troubleshoot, but hopefully the above steps get you in the right direction.

Hi Dave, à more général question. I've never used the USER settings as for my situation I've never needed to change my set up, but here's the question. Are the standard BLOCK settings and the USER settings independent of each other? By this I mean, if I set up a channel in the USER section does this mean that that channel is no longer "in" the BLOCK settings? So, does USER override BLOCK or can they be used at the same time, in parallel? Thanks
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Жыл бұрын
This is a great question and it becomes a combination of both. When you go to Routing > User you will find blocks of 1-8, 9-16, etc that can then be individually configured to get (or send for outputs) a signal to a specific location. You then go to Routing > Input and select that User block. In the end, whatever is selected in Routing > Input will determine your inputs.

We have an X32. It will do just about anything you can dream up. The problem is figuring out how to do it! All KZbin advice videos about the X32 suffer the same problem. And that is the instructors usage of audio vernacular and mixer familiarity exceeds the simple problem at hand. Anyone that intuatively understands mixers and their associated lingo probably doesn't need to know what a 'bus' is on a mixer. Here's a clue: "Gain"= incoming signal strength increases. "Fader"= volume slider. "Monitor"=musicians personal use speaker. "Monitor"= Big TV screen on the wall. "Monitor= computer screen in the sound booth. "Monitor"= pay attention to what's going on! See a problem?

Great video. Thank you. If you’re not going to use post fader, what determines the level going out to the USB. I am having a hard time getting a loud enough output through the USB. Is the level going out through the USB determined by the individual streaming channel levels?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 6 ай бұрын
The audio path hits the preamp which is the biggest factor to your overall stream volume. After that you use the signals to build a mix into a MixBUS (pre or post fader) and those “sends on fader” levels will build the mix into the MixBUS. Typically O see that peoples amps on their PA are turned up all the way so they have to find a place to limit the room volume and they incorrectly do this at the gain. This action trickles down to impact any monitors, FX and any live stream you are building on the console (or even a DAW). This video here describes this more. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4PNgWZ_gKuZp68si=GM84bIbqfc5Eindz

So what happens to the matrix now, do we just turn down the fader and focus on the stream mix bus? We've assigned the user to the mix and the card out, so the matrix goes nowhere at this point?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 26 күн бұрын
I'm assuming you are working on a broadcast mix and there are multiple ways to build your mix. Each style has its' pros and cons and in general those options are: MixBUS, Matrix, DAW. A MixBUS gives you the ability to have an independent mix (pre-fader) managed by a second sound tech or a relative mix from your house based on settings in a post-fader MixBUS (my preferred method) which is best if you only have one sound tech. A Matrix allows you to start with predetermined MixBUS mixes (many people group vocals, band and drums into different buses) and mix those according to the desired output. You can also start with your house mix since that is officially considered a MixBUS. A DAW takes your inputs out the card, into a computer and allows someone to manage the sounds in a computer to build a refined mix. It all comes down to what is best for your group, how many sound techs you have at your events and what gear you have available. If you were running a Matrix and are switching to a MixBUS setup then your Matrix will not be used as it was previously, but (in theory) you will have more control over your mix using a MixBUS.

Thank you so much for these videos! I'm learning as I go. Last week I got my main outputs mirrored to Out 1 and 2. I use OBS, and I can hear the X32 sound on the live stream, but it's not near loud enough. It looks like the setup in this video is the next step. At the end of the video, you talk about adjusting stream loudness with the faders. Can I also adjust gain when Bus 5 and/or 6 are selected to increase the volume on my stream? Thanks again!
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 10 ай бұрын
Usually the “low stream volume” begins with the input gain of each input. This video describes the common issues to address. Also, keep in mind that 0dB output on the console (clipping) is recorded as -6 dB outside of the console. If you build a mix at -12-18dB like many discuss it will be 6dB quieter when getting into OBS. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4PNgWZ_gKuZp68si=XrGH7tFhEqX-ZDJ3

When you select the BUS and go to Home > Config and select the desired setup (pre fader, post fader, etc.). This will determine how your inputs interact with this BUS. To alter the setup of the actual BUS and how it is sent out you need to go to Routing > Outs. In this location you can set how the overall BUS interacts with its fader while being sent out to its desired location.

Just subscribed - this was super helpful! I am having an issue though. We are running the aux mix out via a 1/4" to 1/8" stereo cable into a mini-ATEM pro. We then use OBS for the video mix and stream to KZbin. The problem for us is that there is a super high-frequency, feedback-like sound that is constant. I cannot figure out what it is! I solo listen to the signal out of the mixer and there is no frequency/feedback issue, I've switched out all of the cables and made sure the other cameras feeding into ATEM are muted. Any thoughts? I'm tempted to start completely from scratch as I fear I might have switched around some routing going from a Matrix setup to this Aux send setup. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

We are running straight out of an X32 into an ATEM Studio HD which then goes into OBS and we do not have any issues like you mentioned. Monitoring out of the console is a good start, then you should be able to monitor out of your ATEM (headphone jack) and further you could monitor out of OBS on the laptop. I would try muting all channels on the console to see if the high pitch noise is coming from a specific input or just potentially a ground loop being created from device to device. Ballast Media (KZbin channel) has been doing some videos recently about the ATEM Mini that might be helpful.

Yes, you can do that with no problems. The X32-edit software is easy to use and will bot interfere with the FOH. You will want to setup your MixBUS as a Pre-Fader mix which means it will bot be affected by the FOH fader mix.

Does mapping User Output 1-8 disable those channels for using Tracks Live to do a 32-Channel recording? At least that's what I'm observing. I guess I just have to go back in and reset output 1-8 back to default and then I can make a 32 channel recording. Just curious if there is a way round that.

I’m having an issue with my set up. I was wondering if anyone could help. I have the bus configured so that I can send out of Aux 1 and 2. One strange thing is that nothing can go out through Aux 1 and 2 if it’s not also up in the main mix. Example: I have an audience mic that I’d like only in the stream mix. But it doesn’t work unless I have it up in the main LR first. Then I can click “sends on fader” and manipulate it just in the stream. Also, I see to have no control over the master volume of the stream. It’s just the sum result of all the faders I have going to it. I cannot turn down the Bus Send that is “catching” all of the signals for the stream.

Let's see if we can get everything into one reply. If not, I do offer consultations which make getting your specific questions (on your specific setup) answered much faster. If you want to go that route, fill out the contact card on my website at (sound.AllamHouse.com) 1) It sounds like your MixBus is setup as Post Fader which means you fader setting for your main mix will impact your Bus as well. You can change this to PreFader and this will give you completely independent control of the Bus mix. Once you have that configured you can make any mix on the Bus and any mix on the mains and they will not impact each other. The PreFader setup is great if you have a dedicated person to manage this mix during an event, but if you only have one person you want to go a different route. 2) If you only have one person to mix an event you want to go with a Post Fader setup so that your main mix faders DO impact your Bus mix. For your crowd mics all you need to do is select the input and then click the "Stere Bus" button to the left of the screen which will make the input NOT go to your main mix. You can then have the fader up at unity and manage the input in your Bus as desired. 3) To get the Bus Master fader to work for your output you need to change the output tap point in the Routing > Outs window. Make sure that setting is set to Post Fader so that the Bus Master fader will work as a volume control. Also, since you mentioned this is being sent out the Aux Outputs. You will want to go to Routing > Aux and make sure that tap point is set to Post Fader as well. This video here discusses the difference between Pre/Post Fader for inputs to a Bus and Pre/Post Fader as an output setting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3ixnoGNmbuKgck

We had experienced individuals who setup our board years ago. I have stepped and been running the Live Stream for over a year now. I want to be able to take our stream output, that is currently the live sound mix and separate and mix it separately for our stream. I don't know what I don't know. How do you copy the main output to a mixbus, or is that possible? Thank you for accepting my ignorance... 😁

These are great questions. This video that you watched gives you two options for a setup that gives you independent control of your Stream audio either Pre-Fader or Post Fader MixBUS. If you only have one sound tech at an event than you will want to go with a Post Fader MixBUS. I have a full video below about a walk through of my setup which is like this. If you have the luxury of having two sound techs at every event (one for the room and one for the stream) then you can run a Pre-Fader MixBUS which allows each person to mix independently of each other. So I'm trying to get the panning for an online stream. For example I have a keyboard coming into input 17 on my rack, then going to bus 3 (panned L) and 4 (panned R), the bus goes to matrix 1&2 (linked) routed out analog out 3&4 into obs running in stereo mode. I'm monitoring using headphones via bluetooth. When I move the fader send to the bus I can effectively pan. Is this what you are doing? Using the pan knob I only can change what I hear in one hear.

I have set our livestream up on a bus with sends on fader. However, when I'm off of sends on fader, and working with in house, when I mute channels, it doesn't mute the sends on fader. Therefore, my sound guy is constantly going back and forth muting channels. Any tips?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you have your BUS set at a Pre-fader setup which means the mute and faders will not interact with your stream BUS. You have two options… (1) change the tap point by selecting a channel and going to Home > Sends and using the encoder knobs. You will want to make a selection that includes “+M” which means plus mute. This will allow your muted to impact the BUS. You will have to make this change on each channel going into the BUS. (2) Change the BUS to Post Fader so that your house mix faders and mutes will impact the stream as well.

Hi Dave, so I copied this configuration to have a separate mix but even after adding the limiter if I leave the routing with the Bus 1 and 2 (that's the one I'm using) the volume is so low and I don't know what it is =/ only when I added the Matrix (with all the routing that u did on the other video) it's when I'm getting a decent volume on my transmission (I'm using the X USB card with the cable to my laptop) is there something by default that helps on that ? A friend use his scene on the x32 so that's the only thing I can think of; thanks for your videos they're really helpful! :D

So I am little confused. Why did we route through the bus output. Instead of routing through the matrix 1 and 2. Trying real hard to fix our live stream at church
@AllamHouse

BASIC Setup: The stereo Bus allows you to mix inputs at different levels from the main house mix. I tend to use a Post Fader MixBUS since many venues don’t have a dedicated live stream engineer. I then route that mix out of the console to my live stream. NEXT Level: A Matrix is a Mix of Buses and I do run my single stereo live stream bus through a Matrix to take advantage of more FX on this chain. This is not a necessary step, but one that I do currently use in my weekly mix environment. DIFFERENT Setup: Using a Matrix mix for your stream requires you to have all of your inputs running through Buses and then you mix the amount of these buses into your Matrix. Many people that use this method will start with their house mix (which is officially on a stereo bus) and then supplement with other Bus information to refine their mix. This setup doesn’t work in my environment so I have always stayed with the Stereo MixBUS approach.

It’s hard to say what you changed without looking at tour setup. I would start be checking the BUSes to make sure they are set properly for Pre/Post Fader depending on how you want. This is a simple fix. Find the Live Stream BUS (on either side of the console) and push the select button. Once you have the BUS selected you can push the "Stereo LR" (or LR Bus... depending on which console you have) button the is to the left of the screen. When it is orange it will send this mix to the FOH, but when it is not orange it will be fully functional and not go to the FOH. Let me know if you have other questions.

Is there a way to listen (solo) the stream mix and listen with the headphones during a live performance?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Жыл бұрын
All you need to do is locate the Bus that supports your stream and hit the solo button associated with that Bus. It will send the mix to the headphones on the console and not change or interact with your house mix at all. The headphone volume knob will adjust the overall volume going to the headphones so check this prior to your event to make sure it is at a similar level to your house mix so you can hear the differences.

Do you use both xlr outputs, channel 5 & 6 to two inputs or can you use one xlr output? Meaning your stream needs both channels connected to the device that is receiving the audio? How do I make adjustments to the Aux sends(live Stream) using the ipad. The board is in the back closet? Can not get a good mix on acc guitar, elect bass and 5 singer and elect drum kit. Please help
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 жыл бұрын
So, if you are looking to mix your stream, the closet might actually be a good place so you are not influenced by the house mix. Plug some headphones into the board (in the handle), solo your MixBUS being used for live stream and then make sure you are on sends on fader to change the mix for that specific MixBUS. If you want to mix from an iPad, I use the basic Behringer app and it has 16 little boxes between the top channel selectors and the lower controls with faders. Those 16 channels correlate to your MixBUSes. Push the MixBUS number that relates to your live stream and then any fader changes will mix your stream.

Do you use custom outs for more precise routing? Like combining physical & card outs?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 жыл бұрын
Card outputs are separate from physical outputs. You have 16 physical and 32 card outputs. If I am multitracking, I like to record my final stream mix along with my inputs so that does take some custom routing, but my physical outs support my stage (monitors), FOH mix, and a pair go to my video switcher for my live stream.

While a Matrix is a quick, easy way to get audio to a live stream you don’t have separate control over the mix for the house and stream or the volume output. You can use a Matrix to copy your mains (or other buses) into and then route them out your 1/4” AUX out on the back of the console. Can you adjust the EQ on individual channels on the Bus?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 10 ай бұрын
EQ is available at the channel level using the channel strip (or possibly an inserted FX). Once that has been completed you can send that signal to different places or mixes (like an AUX or MixBUS). While you can choose the tap point in terms of where the signal is grabbed per channel (Pre EQ, Post EQ, Pre Fader, etc) you do not have the ability to have different EQ settings for the house mix vs a MixBus. With all of this in mind, you still have the channel strip EQ for any groups or mixes you create. Here is a video that discusses how I approach my various groups since the one EQ needs to work for the room, monitors and live stream mixes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4iznad8o7ChntU

I do handle consulting sessions where we could work with your board or you could send me tracks along with your scene and I can refine things in my studio. If you want to go that route just fill out the contact card on my website to start a conversation outside of YT. What so recommend is that you setup to multitrack record into a computer (video linked below) and get some tracks from a rehearsal or a service. Then, push those back through the console and refine the EQ/Comp for each channel using headphones plugged into the console. Finally, solo your stream mix and build the mix with inputs, then add FX into the mix.

Question, my church just purchased the X32 so the video is helpful btw. But we also use the usb out to connect the audio to the stream computer. I was told you need the most recent firmware update to be able to create a mix bus and then send that out as the stream audio, is this true or is it possible with an older firmware?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 жыл бұрын
You can do it with the old firmware, but it limits you to have to run your live stream bus mix on either MixBUS 1/2 or 9/10. Then your card outputs would either take outputs 1-8 or 9-16 across USB. Regardless (as mentioned in this video) the streaming computer needs to see your stream mix on USB 1/2 to function properly. With the newer firmware version (4.0 or newer) you can set and output to be routed to USB 1/2 so there is som e flexibility there. Please make sure you save tour scene to the board before upgrading your firmware, but the process is simple and only take a second (both to save tour scene and upgrade the firmware). kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWHFoombq86Fgck

@AllamHouse 7 ай бұрын
I prefer to stay in the digital space if possible by using the USB connection which also removes one point of failure. It is worth addressing your clipping on the MixBUS in the console before it leaves so you have a controlled signal. I tend to run my audio up to about -3 on the output meter of the console (understanding that the overall peak output of the console is the industry standard -6dBfs. I send my stream across XLR to the ATEm TV Studio HD and then across SDI to ProPresenter7. In Pro7 we bump the audio up +6 to compensate for the board and it goes out to the world at that point. This video here is one that describes how I use various parts of the board to get my stream as controlled as possible to be “broadcast ready”. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5LFg2utq5mUb8Usi=Xg_BaV3CI8qoAP3J

How do I do this setup with a console that has an electronic snake?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 4 жыл бұрын
When you say electronic snake, do you mean a digital snake... like an S16 or S32? The ideas mentioned in this video are discussing sending your mix through a MixBUS and then out USB to your computer.

If i get a male 1/4 splitter to 1/4 female then run L and R 1/4 to 3.5mm, will it run like in stereo to a 3.5mm head phone input on the capture card instead of using USB out while also using only 1 aux out channel?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 9 ай бұрын
The audio input on a laptop is designed to be a mic input and only offers a mono input. Most people use a digital interface (like a regular 2-channel) to convert the 1/4” outputs into USB. The console can do this for you which is what the video discusses. I do use your method in many places, but that is when I’m sending a signal into an ATEM mini video switcher. This video here discusses the three ways to get audio out of the X32. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnjXYq1rfpyVorMsi=UfmFRQJ4zZXBnAvv

Very helpful video, thanks! If I assign a mix bus to card outputs 1&2 (which is what OBS uses for streaming) I lose the direct outputs on those channels right? I currently have mics on channels 1-16 on the card (corresponding to my local inputs 1-16) which I record directly in Reaper for later re-mixing. Do I need to move the mics from channels 1&2 to some other channels if I use 1&2 for the stream mix?

If your Stream Mix Buses are set as Post-Fader, will changes in FOH mix affect de streaming? Should we then set the streaming mixes as pre-fader? Thanks for this great video
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Жыл бұрын
Yeah the decision is usually made based on how many sound techs you have available for a given event. Many people only have one sound tech so a Post Fader MixBUS is ideal. This allows for one person to adjust both mixes with one fader move. If you have two sound techs then you have the luxury of designating one person for each mix and thus you can run a Prezfader mix.

@@AllamHouse Dave - At about 10:25 in the video, the faders would need to be set to Post Fader, since the faders do need to control the mix. (It is different than sending all channels to a DAW.) I was able to use a couple of your videos, pause them as needed, and go step-by-step through setting up the live stream mix. Awesome explanation. Yeah, this video was actually out out when most people had no live attendance due to Covid so this was a quick way to get a mix going to the stream. Many people will send the MixBUS directly out to their streaming device, but if you want to send it to a Matrix you just select the desired matrix, hit sends on fader and then go to the MUS Master layer on the far left of the console and bring up the desired MixBUS into the Matrix. Hey Allam House thanks for your continuous support to churches. Your videos have helped me solve many problems i cant find on many other channels Is it possible to use xlr cables out from the stream bus and run it through an audio interface before it hits the computer via a usb cable? I ask because i have had a consistent problem at my church with sound just disappearing and the printer cable that carries the routed signal via card usb not even being recognized anymore. I have purchased so many printer cables 2.0 , and sometimes 3 however it would just work for a while and stop again. A friend of mine had the same prob and even had a change of the entire card usb but didn’t help at all. All drivers updated and can’t think of anything else. I just need a different option at this time

When I was on a. windows machine I would have times that the computer would t recognize the console. I would have to reboot the console (while plugged into the laptop and that seemed to refresh the connection. On my MAC I typically have to select “Built-in Input” click apply, then go back and select X-USB. It isn’t a hardware or cable issue, just something to do with the cache within the computer and some “magic” inside the driver connectivity. That being said, you can use XLR outs and connect to an interface or a video switcher. Just keep in mind the interface will add an additional layer of analog to digital conversion and will have a gain/volume included which could be a source of troubleshooting in the future. Good luck.
