Allan Savory is the savior-fair of this century and it is very urgent to acknowledge his guidance and vision to overcome the mistakes made so far!!??

I have stopped corn and soy crops on my organic farm in Ne and planted cover crops and grazing 80 head of cattle for 3-5 years. Love your input and support.

Thank you for helping to spreading the word. Was just watching a documentary about the dangerous low levels in the Colorado river which has declined slowly ever since they build the dam, and the only reason is because we have not known what Savory here is saying. The land degrade which reduce water feeding to the river and also reduce the amount rain in the area.

Folks are aware that greening cities cools the city by several degrees. Now all we need are city grazing operations to further improve.

This is so great. I have lived on the land all my life. As a homesteader, I blamed the ranchers. Then I looked back at the humans side of the mountain. What a mess. It makes sence that we reduce the number of heads of cattle instead of increase them more densely and move them more. Thank You.

Pity that Alan has made it more and more complex. It was about fighting desertification and he found a method to do it cheaply and effectively, although not easy to introduce on common 'grazing lands'. So the real basic was to stimulate seed germination and vegetation growth on pastures, bushland and even on arable land. With as tools: hove impact (to disturb the soil) and controlled grazing (to avoid overgrazing of the most palatable plant species) by grazing animals (cows actually). Urine and cow dung as a additional positive factor. He came with "holistic" because the whole landscape and wildlife, and communities were taken into account. BUT now he comes with a complete 'worldview' including 'wars', migration, poverty, institutions, technology for tools, etc. OK, desertification is indeed strongly linked to a changing climate in those areas - and maybe worldwide(?). Maybe even more than that of CO2 in the atmosphere. Still, I learned a lot from Alan, thank you for that.

See his debate with George Monbiot, absolute car crash. I fond Allan very disingenuous and a bit up himself. Also he repeats the same rubbish in most of his talks. Also he has not addressed the proven fraud about his pictures or his foundation's involvement in carbon fraud.

At 22:29 Allan says it would be to an advantage in some countries to utilize oil instead of wood or cotton. My question - would it be to an even greater advantage to use hemp rather than oil since hemp provides the oil, the fiber, and it sequesters carbon in the process rather than releasing it like oil would?

Great discussion. Savory`s holistic view is very similar to Cabreras "System Thinking" in order to solve the worlds "wicked problems". Read his book "Flock not clock", great insight. So happy to see the regenerative movement gaining momentum!

intensive dairy in wales.masses of nitrates poured over grassland to speed growth for grazing and silage production can never be good.poisoned fish from dairy farm slurry is common.

it's so obvious that Savory didn't think his concept through. this would never work large scale, and it would create way more problems than it would solve.

You miss his message, i.e. the methods depend on your context while the holistic planning process can always be applied. He has said many times that the only time his method failed was when people after he left stopped go through the planning process and just copied the procedures for a couple of years. The specific methods savory is using (grazing animals etc.) is useful in semidry warm areas. That is not bad, semidry warm area is something like 7 million square kilometers worldwide, pretty much all the traditional prairie, pampas, pusta or steppe, depending on your location..

Al Gore is merely a stooge of the WEF, his predictions and hysteria at Davos recently are so far from the truth and reality, it's simply ludicrous. Allan Savory has LIVED the solution he preaches. Great respect for Allan Savory!

What's so bad about Al Gore? He had a lot to do with making people aware of global warming before it became so obvious with all the extreme weather happening all over the world.

@@wendyscott8425 Savory is a failed politician. That should tell you enough. He seems to have an inability to respect others who are trying to solve the same problems he is. He's got some good insights but is hopeless at politics. Rather than seeing Al Gore, Greta, and just about everyone else as allies, he burns bridges with backhanded compliments because they fail his "purity test". He mines a cultural goodwill that tends to exist between farmers and the rest of society (wedging the undeniable importance of agriculture and many people todays disconnection from it due to urbanisation and romanticism) It's very sad to see Alan being carted around the world doing more damage than good IMO. Unfortunately many in the regenerative ag movement are in denial and have don't spot the emperor without clothes. It's not that his ideas are "bad" it's just he mixes in a lot of lofty word salad and motherhood statements of the bleeding obvious and as I explained, burns bridges and wedges environmental issues.
