This was so so refreshing to hear! We did an intimate wedding of 28 people last year and there were no relatable videos at the time! You can feel judged for breaking traditional wedding norms and pressured to spend a fortune, but it's important to remember to celebrate your love in a way that feels true to yourself as a couple!Congratulations Allana for doing exactly that & wishing you every happiness in your marriage! ❤️

This video is going to help so many women, Allana. Everything you’ve shared has been so special and beautiful. I married my ex in ‘91, and traditional weddings were pretty standard. It’s insane how much the cost of things has gone up. If my person shows up, it’s going to be a shared vow between us. No ceremony, no paper, with tattoo rings, and the knowing we’ll share the rest of our lives together apart from any cultural norm. I look upon any union as a blessing, no matter how a couple chooses to go about it. Love is all there is, all that matters. 🫶🪷

It’s so sad people’s wedding days get lost in what they feel they ‘should’ have. We ended up eloping and only spent money on the things that were important to us and it felt sooo worth it, so much easier and cheaper and where we invested the money felt totally right because they were the important bits to US. I can relate to how much effort it is to do the least! My husband was 55 and had never been married and his parents are still living. As a mother myself, I felt his mother deserved to witness her son get married (finally 😅). There were also family dynamics at play, but, like you, we just went about enjoying our day and it was wonderful! As a bride who got married on the beach with 11 guests and had our family reception at the hotel steakhouse, I love love love this plan and would never change a thing we did! Love that we got to save money and put any 'extra' we have into the house we just bought last October. Congratulations!

Flowers are crazy expensive. That’s why in my country it’s very common that all the couples getting married the same weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) they share the cost of the flowers for the church, and the same flowers are used in all the weddings. Very convenient

I very recently lost my husband and going through the grieving process with your wedding videos has helped me remember more from our wedding day, like how I ended up wearing a different dress and was barefoot! We had our tiny wedding in our bright living room and it was magical ❤I made his favorite cake in the morning that was our wedding cake and each anniversary I have made it ❤ How we stayed true to ourselves and our Love💕 I love how you talk about healing, and in my experience Love truly is a healing force. My dress is the ONE thing I would change about my wedding day if I had the chance. I struggled to find a dress I loved and felt comfortable in. My family and I visited about two dozen bridal stores and I went through 3 potential dresses and was just so overwhelmed. In the end I stumbled across a plain dress in a formalwear store that my aunty (former wedding seamstress) was going to alter for me to look like a dress I fell in love with but was discontinued and did not have my size off the rack. Lo and behold, altering that was not an easy thing to do - I didn't have my completed dress until THREE days before my wedding. If I could redo it, I would find a plain fitted dress with nothing glitzy about it and be happy. I'm super thankful for the effort my family went to help me get the dress I did have, but I feel it could have been a better experience all round. Your final dress was absolutely perfect and I'm glad you were able to find something you were in love with! Congrats on getting married

I totally relate to you saying the celebration is for other people (just as much, if not more) than it is for you. I, too, am a fellow eloper. We got married on the beach in HI with just myself, husband and daughter. Went back to the Airbnb to change, checked into the hotel and had dinner. Ended the night with a gym session. No stress and worry at all. The rest of our trip was a long vacation. Wouldn't change a thing..
