The problem with experts is they make a brutally hard job look easy. Trust me, hand shearing isn't easy, it takes years of practice to get this good. A strong back is a must. 👍

A very quiet job ,relaxing to watch ,but a tough job for you . Excellent I know how hard hand shearing is , my first flock of Suffolk ewes were hand shorn , many years ago. Thank you.

I love watching a sheep clipped with hand shears . My Mum had a set at home she brought from her family farm in the tablelands NSW she use to get them sharpened and trim the garden with them. Mum has passed but they are very precious to me

Can I ask is there only certain sheep you can shear?

Any wooly breeds can be blade shorn. Some easier than others. Short dense wooled sheep can be a little more difficult than longer wooled breeds.

Can you show how to shear a shape with the long fat tail, those are the ones I have. It’s hard to shear around them.

These are from Shear Sharp NZ and can only really be purchased through them. Most of the shears online are very basic and require a lot of work to get to this standard
