As a Bok supporter, I know the ABs are peaking just at the right time. As Saffas we relish the challenge to face the best now and of all time! We have BIG respect for the ABs.
@nimblegoat
@nimblegoat 7 ай бұрын
I think this is the slight advantage to NZ - peaking at the right time - plus I think the new assistant coaches are bedded in - The players now seem to be working as a team - and know what they have to do - I feel better for this one than in 2019 Hansen/Foster - we were declining - relying on the AB flair too much as weird selection and tactics back then - I don't think can read too much into game as Twiggers or vs France - ABs played within themselves - against Irish we stepped up - I think we will step up in this final and put our bodies on the line - an extra man at every breakdown , an extra man getting back - Plus we are getting penalised less - Bokkies can still win - - so we need to stop scoreboard pressure , and play in Bokkies territory - to make Boks work to get up field . Our loosies - a weakness seem to be now good - Plus bringing on Sam W , Tamatii, Fletcher will help starve off bombsquad - we will play fast tempo - Plus refs will watch for Boks for any timewasting , HIAs , angling in - - Just the way it is - Refs will know talking points - plus thing English and French will support us ( that can change with dirty play , poor reffing , great rugby - but initial support for us- as they feel cheated ) will be a lekker game - ABs fans already happy to get to finals - we both win to be in finals

@@spervuurproduksiescalm down bro, the sentiment was a pleasant one. I second the comment. I am also a Bok fan, but while these guys may denegrate the Boks, they are entertaining as hell. Jeff and JK always having a go at each other is priceless. On another note, the ABs have been my other team in this cup. Watching them come back from the opener to effectively smash the Irish in the quarters was a joy to watch. Especially after the fans drowned out the haka before the game. I hated that tbh Classic justice Good luck to you and your team, so stoked it's us in the finals slugging it out.

I'm not a Kiwi or Saffa, but these are the best two teams in the world. No matter how good you are in between, when the money and the title is on the line, those who are truly the best step up to the mark and perform. The French and the Irish don't get this, but they don't have the sporting culture of NZ and SA to understand. For my money the loss of Malcolm Marx gives NZ the edge. I would continue with Retallick starting at lock, because the ABs have won every game he has started this year.

As a teenager I grew up hating the AB's lol but as the years went on, now 35 years old and a bit more matured as a person and as a spectator and lover of the game, I've learned to appreciate and respect each team for simply playing the game and offering their best and the AB's over the years has certainly given us some of the best moments in rugby. I’m not sure if the Boks have enough bullets left in the clip… But if we are able to fire one last round then this victory alone will probably go down as our greatest in our history. This weekend reminds me of the 2012 Super Rugby season where the Sharks had to travel to Brisbane to play the Reds who had won the comp the previous year. After winning, their reward was a game against the Stormers in Cape Town which somehow they managed to win. And the last hurdle was the Chiefs away in New Zealand. As good as the Sharks were, they just didn’t have enough left in the tank and the Chiefs ended up winning quite comfortably. There’s a lot at stake at this weekend, Springboks have the history, All blacks have the pedigree. my gut is telling me All Blacks will win a fourth title this weekend. But we need to also remember that the Boks have never lost a final and are also looking to go back to back…

They will be playing for everyone back home, for something far bigger than the team. It's a hard ask but possible. I beg to differ, AB’s beaten heavily last time they played them, SA now very battle hardened, perfect prep for a final. Beaten France as well, so have plenty of belief in their game. Have been caught off guard against England but they’ll be aware of the errors they made in that game so unlikely to be caught out again with that tactic. Also they have a full week off to rest up, with virtually no physical runs, just mental prep, and of course they would be at their fittest they are likely to ever be. They are clearly favourites and no1 currently. Still, if the All Blacks get their game right the ABs could take it.p, but after a run of easy games may not be ready yet for the toughest battle.

SA have taken the toughest path in the history of the tournament and looked spent on Saturday. We all saw it and the fans know what they saw. If they somehow refill the tank this week and actually win this thing, it’ll be the greatest win ever purely on the basis of the path they took. It’s at this stage that the whole “they played their final” comes into it. In truth they’ve played 3 finals. @user-it9vu9dh1d what a prat of a comment. The Assistant coaches do what the head coach tells them..... can't blame the head coach for the losses and not credit him for the wins. Even the players have said that they weren't getting Fozzies message clearly enough from Cron and Co. The change to Ryan and Schmidt got the message through to the players in a better and easier to implement fashion. The message hasn't changed, but the delivery did. And Fozzie made those changes. If we win the title, Fozzie is a national hero and deserves to be celebrated. P.s I wanted Razor as coach..

We showed the world that healthy rivalry trumps bitter hatred every day. 5. Whatever the outcome, one of us will be annointed the greatest rugby team the world has ever seen in the history of the game. 5. Mr. Wilson surprised me (2:30 min), when he says he predicted All Blacks vs France in the final . . but instead we got the next best thing. Please elaborate on this comment . . would you have preferred an All Black vs Les Bleus final over an All Blacks vs Springboks final. This is what the 2 teams are playing for : NEW ZEALAND = 4th RWC (1st team to do so) = The first team to win a RWC after losing to the host nation SOUTH AFRICA = 4th RWC (1st team to do so) = Back-to-Back RWC (2nd team to do so . . NZ were the first) = To remain the only team undefeated in a RWC final = The first team to have played against all top 5 ranked teams = The only team to win a RWC final at the same venue, outside their own country (New Zealand won the RWC final twice at the same venue on home soil - Eden Park, Auckland . . . hard to imagine that it took New Zealand 24 years to win their second RWC . . their first being in 1987 as joint host nation with Australia . . their first two were won on home soil)

Yeah, to have come so far over the last 12 months and especially the last 8 weeks to be in the final, quite unexpected. Most of NZ thought we would have almost no show, but here we are. Shame about the likelihood of rain but after seeing how England used their kicking game to very nearly win it, am sure we will try a few kicks as well. Maybe instead of high kicks it’ll be grubbers into space behind the big boys, that’s not our core game really and we’re not great at it, but in this game running rugby in the rain isn’t an easy thing or smartest thing to do so expect to see a mix kicking plays. How the ABs find space is the question, and can they keep from being sucked into the SA forwards grind battle? At this late stage, not expecting any real change of tactics or personnel from NZ or SA. SA have their forwards based power game with long kicks for territory and lineouts, and they are good at it, with rain they’ll also kick high and hope for dropped balls. Probably usual 6-2 or 7-1 split from them, emphasis again on their forward game. Pollard to start for penalty kicks and keep scores close. Be really interesting to see how the young props go against SA if they are chosen again. Go All Blacks!

If the game is played at a very high pace with not too many stoppages like the England vs SA game then NZ will have the advantage due to their fast pace game. They also using wingers close to opposition forwards to make them work even harder so they will look to work those forwards hard and tire them out. SA are a never say die team and they will fight every inch so NZ will need to be disciplined and patient. There are no favorite though as so many scenarios could play out.

11:45 I agree with Jeff. Firstly, there are other teams who are VASTLY improved, capable of beating anyone, not only the ABs, on their day. Secondly, although Foster has a strong 23, he hasn't built depth. Look at what South Africa has done here. In all honesty, they have the strongest squad. Their coach was willing to give players experience, possibly at the expense of one or two matches. In my eyes, that's better coaching. Will be interesting to see what Razor does...

There has been another competition playing out in New Zealand before and during the current World Cup....you may have heard of it?, the NPC. National Provincial Championship. Some pretty handy players with experience running around and traditionally the place where New Zealand Rugby build their "Depth". Ian Foster has cemented his coaching credentials just by his All Black team reaching the World Cup final.....if they beat the "odds" by beating the Africans.....well, Scott Robertson better be ALL that he is cracked up to be.
