Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience. Hearing loss, especially as it impacts social interactions, can feel isolating at times, and it’s understandable that it might affect your confidence in certain situations. But your perspective is truly inspiring-focusing on being brave, appreciating what we have, and finding strength in faith can make a big difference in how we navigate these challenges. Large groups can be particularly tough with hearing loss, so it might help to find smaller, more intimate settings for social connections where communication feels easier. Also, many people find it empowering to advocate for their needs, like letting others know how they can best support you in conversations. If this video was helpful, please consider sharing it-it might provide encouragement to others facing similar challenges. And I’d love to hear: what has helped you the most in maintaining connection and joy despite the challenges of hearing loss? Your wisdom could uplift others in the same situation.

I can't count how many times people, many whom matter to me, thought I was ignoring them. I wasn't aware that I had hearing loss the whole time - apparently, since I had an ear infection that did not heal. This topic really hits close to home for me. Thank you for posting this!

Thank you for sharing your story-it’s such an important reminder of how hearing loss can impact not just our health but also our relationships. It’s so common for hearing challenges to be misunderstood, especially when they develop gradually or go unnoticed for a long time. I imagine it must have been difficult to feel like others thought you were ignoring them when that wasn’t the case at all. The fact that you’ve identified the issue and are reflecting on it now is a big step forward. Communication is key here-letting those close to you know about your hearing loss can help them better understand your experience and foster patience and support. If this video resonated with you, please consider sharing it-it might help others realize they’re not alone in their struggles with hearing loss. And I’d love to hear your thoughts: what’s one thing that has helped you adapt or improve communication since discovering your hearing loss? Your insight could make a big difference for someone else! Thank you for addressing this. I am 50 and suffered single sided deafness at 19 as a result of a viral infection. I had a BAHA implant at age 35. I still avoid social gatherings and certain environments. It’s very isolating 😢

Thank you for sharing your story. Living with single-sided deafness can be incredibly challenging, especially in social settings where background noise and overlapping conversations make communication more difficult. It’s understandable that this experience has felt isolating over the years. Hearing loss doesn’t just affect how we hear-it can deeply impact how we connect with others and how we feel about engaging socially. Even with a BAHA implant, it’s common to still feel hesitant about social gatherings. Working through this might involve gradual exposure to social situations, starting with smaller, quieter environments where you feel more comfortable, and building from there. Therapy can also help address feelings of isolation by exploring ways to reframe thoughts about these experiences, practice self-compassion, and find alternative ways to connect with others. Joining support groups for individuals with hearing loss might also help you feel less alone and more understood. If you found this video helpful, please share it with others who might benefit. You can also find more in-depth resources on hearing loss and its impact at DocSnipes.com/clones. Take care, and remember, reaching out is a powerful step toward connection.

I've been diagnosed with Meniere's disease. The vertigo is very debilitating, and I have serious balance issues. Also, I've been experiencing excessive ear drainage, which disturbs my ability to sleep. I believe my severe chronic sinusitis has something to do with it because when my sinuses flare up, I experience more frequent symptoms. The same applies to my Tinnitus. I need to be careful not to move too quickly or it can trigger my vertigo. My ENT Dr. said I will eventually go deaf, but so far I haven't noticed any hearing loss.🤔 Happy Thanksgiving❣️

Thanks for another fine presentation. I have anosmia (loss of sense of smell) so I was hoping I'd get some insight learning about the loss of another sense. Anosmia doesn't get much coverage and most people can't relate. It doesn't affect day-to-day functioning, but its loss is quite impactful.

You're right, it doesn't get enough attention. It actually contributes to a loss of appetite and potentially malnutrition since you can't smell. Additionally, smell is one of the greatest triggers of memories and when you can't smell, it makes it less often that your memories will be triggered. Well, I don't have many suggestions for improving the desire to eat food, as far as the memories go, I encourage you to add additional visual and auditory triggers for positive memories

@@DocSnipes Sadly, I suffer from C-PTSD so I don't have many positive memories to begin with. I find that the sweet, creamy texture of ice cream goes down all too well so no malnutrition for me! Thanks for replying. 💙
