@@jackjohnson This world has become insane. Getting offended for helping for free ... Maybe I should ask for $10 and make an 1 hour video and everybody would appreciate the help ....

Two considerations; I've never seen that reboot screen at 1:21 and your signal strength is marginal at best. Even without those two issues mine drops off Wi-Fi every couple of weeks. The iPhone occasionally grabs my 5G Wi-Fi connection and the Sensi only uses 2.4GHz so if your app won't connect check that first.
@allcheckout5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts. It shouldn't be a problem if you're on a different wifi. You just need the Sensi Hotspot for first connection. After that it shouldn't matter. You can even use 4g to connect when Sensi is still on 2.4 ghz. I've tried many times and worked. That WiFi loss was really a consistent problem over the whole period I was using this thing, but I'm living now in another home with expensive NEST thermostats and they are a piece of cr... I can tell you. They are supposed to reduce the electric bill, but do exactly opposite. They do whatever they want and no matter how your settings are - the temperature swings are EXTREME! So if I could chose - I would definitely go with the SENSI - even if it still had this wifi problem.

Hold the up arrow, down arrow, and fan button all together at the same time and your thermostat will reboot within 5 seconds. Mine is always disconnecting and this always works for me.

Actually it’s simple guys. I figured it out. Just press menu, press and hold the mode button and then press connect. Or should work that. If it doesn’t automatically reconnect, go into the app then press the plus button to reconnect to the wifi. I don’t understand why it cuts from the wifi but it’s super annoying. Especially if your away from the house.

Yup - it is. Unfortunately I can't try because I sold the home 3 years ago, but thanks for sharing anyway

ahhh what about if the "Connect" word isn't showing??? I'm tryting to test my Sensi and I can't connect it yet... When I go the menu what you are showing at 1:00 ... I got that X on top right corner but the word "Connect" isn't here when I activate the wifi.

never mind, I got it with brand new batteries... I thought by having a direct C wire connected to it we won't need batteries anymore... kinda sad

Sorry ... very old video. Was really not good quality, but always worked for me like that, but sold the home with the thermostat 5 yr ago and never had to deal with it any more. Not missing it ... lol

@@allcheckout oh all good, actually today I tired a test with brand new batteries and the "Connect" was there... also.. I really thought that connecting the thermostat with a C wire would let you benefit with all Wifi features (thus having the "Connect" option) but apparently not... I'm a bit sad cause I was looking to bring a C wire... if we need batteries for full wifi features then what is the purpose of having a C wire? :( let the stat works when batteries are dead then! Thanks anyway :)

I have the same issue, I cant connect without the password. And my ac and heat never turn off. Worst Thermostat in the market as I been investigating.

NEST are even worse - believe me and they are $200. I had two of them now for 1 year ...
@NhatNguyen-xs7kl4 жыл бұрын
Chris R mine does the same. If it goes “offline” if the AC is running it won’t turn off until it’s back online. Is that how yours is? Ever find a solution if it go back offline?
@nymincho4 жыл бұрын
@@NhatNguyen-xs7kl I called the guy that installed it... and he switched a few settings on it. He said that it was running backwards. I guess the issue comes when someone bumps it also. I yell at anyone that goes near it and I haven't had a problem since...but yeah I don't have it over Wi-Fi. I only mess with heat and AC up and down settings manually now.

I can feel with you when such things doesn't work. Have you tried as directed in instructions (I know it's a hassle ....).? Did you put it in AP mode? Are you close enough to your router? BTW: Im using now a NEST thermostat ... very fancy and very expensive ... and a lot of problems too ...
