I'm a huge long-time Letterman show, since the daytime version. I've seen dang near all of them, and I have to say that Tom Hanks is consistently the funniest guest of all. Every single time, he was hilarious, just the best.

I just love listening to his voice. And he's so funny, he should have his own talk show. He would be the greatest late night host

He is here to promote the best film he has ever made... "Nothing In Common". I remember seeing it in the theater when I was 12 years old and falling in love with it. The last line made me cry at 12 and still makes me cry today (at 44). It is one of the funniest/saddest films ever made and on my top ten list of all time favorite movies.

jason thompson I, too, love "Nothing In Common". An under-appreciated classic.

"You were the last person I ever thought would come through for me." Is that the line you're referring to?
@mariarohrl8793 жыл бұрын
@@seattlegolfer it is the last line of the film, so I guess that's the one. Perhaps my favorite film as well.

Jason T, love your take on this. I love this film and had always thought it was his best. It was actually his first true dramatic role. I was 10 years old when this came out and I wish I saw it in the theater. It seemed like Money Pit overshadowed it at that time, and that’s unfortunate. This movie never got enough recognition.

LOL at Tom Hanks' Jackie Gleason impersonation! So sad that at this time, Gleason was dying of cancer and no one knew.
@adiadv109 жыл бұрын
+MICHAEL SOWELL Very sad. I can’t imagine the effort it took for Gleason to be there at all, and no one knew he was terminally ill. His final act was a breakout role for both him and Tom Hanks that moved me to tears when I watched it (almost 30 years ago).

Back then Tom Hanks was a COMEDIC actor (one of the best of the 80s). The movie he was there to promote was his first drama and even then it was a Comedy/Drama. It wasn't until the early to mid 90s he moved into drama.
