Transcript "Parental Conference" I want to know why it is you don't like my son, and that well that is something that you shouldn't have done because I've been waiting 80 days for a face-to-face. Although the progress reports, the absent notification days, the meet the teacher page never inspired you to make the trip, but you're really curious who I have an issue with. What a perfect start to a dialogue what a perfect opportunity for no messages to get miss quoted or lost. It's comedic that as a parent you're so quick to presume and assume. The issue I have is not with your child but with you and parents who do exactly what you do. Parents who are fake interested in their child's education. You know the ones who always ignore the grades but always volunteer for the celebrations. The parents who rather be a friend then step up to the plate. The ones who go around starting fires and cleaning up the mess they made. The helicopter mom and dad with no room to speak. They complain about every little thing, but refuses to address the fact that their child can't read, and you think my issue is with your kid. You think how I show I care is what's worthy of this hostile visit. Why don't we break down why I do what it is I do. That personal agenda you think I have towards your son is what we call love, something that he's simply not used to. So you don't like it when I tell him to sit up straight, be quiet, and focus is what you're telling me. Those words teach them to respect authority when they are speaking. When he fails and I tell him it's not good enough and to do it again. I am teaching him that settling for the minimum and doing the bare minimum does not make him a man. When I tell him to watch his mouth when he talks, I am teaching him that his words speaks to me in my inner thoughts. when I tell him that I am going to take away his recess and make him watch the other kids play. I am doing your fucking job by showing there are consequences when mistakes are made. When he throws his books away and I get in his face and scream. The words I am actually shouting are don't you dare quit on me, and you have the audacity to question my methods. Why don't we turn the tables around and let me ask you, "Why you didn't bother to use some damn protection?" Especially if neglect is all you had to offer, which leads me to my next question, "Why the fuck did you even bother?" You think I'm too young to know about parenting get a clue I know more about this shit that you do. I bust my ass to keep his mind open, while you simply keep it shut. So you're damn right I give him a little more what you would call tough love, and the first lesson is understanding that you come into this world alone. The second lesson is never making excuses for pathetic examples that you call parents at home. I love all my students more than life itself, and I'll be damned if I am told otherwise by half assed parents like yourself. - Poetic Moment

I hope we can win, that's what I dealt with growing up but no on wanted to find out i was being abused in more ways than being paraded. the teachers that weren't racist yelled at me like the teachers did but I didn't need tough love in that area I needed someone to be sensitive maybe they'd notice i was being abused and I wouldn't shut down out of literally"taught fear" of authority I cant even think straight a lot of the time.. i wish someone wouldve looked into my anger as well as cared

As a SPED teacher, felt every word she said! Same with her poem teachers wanted. She’s not afraid to call it like it is. It’s 2020 and I feel like our sped kids are being left further behind... especially with this pandemic. I’ve only been able to reach 30% of my kids And even though that’s a decent number I still worry about the 70% I haven’t heard from since this all started...
