Your RC series Reader Controllers claim to meet the IEEE 802.3af standard for Power over Ethernet (PoE) but there seems to be a violation of the isolation requirements outlined in Chapter 33.4.1 of the standard. Providing non-isolated (from PoE) 12V power to the metallic strike and signals through non-RJ45 connectors could be misleading to users and potentially pose a threat to their health and safety.
