Good effort :) although I will say one thing you need to use the muscles in your calfs more to pull yourself up onto the pointe, that way your legs will be straighter and you will take less pressure off the foot :)

In reply to 91rnchantel, I have to say that irish dance hardshoes, which are the shoes you are referring to, have a very hard block. Our heels and tips are made of fiberglass, actually making them much harder than a pointe shoe...

@nevermindforgetit you are right, the irish step dancers do not wear pointe shoes, but the shoes they use does have a supportive block in the,. Not like a pointe shoe does but enough to stand briefly on their toes. They don't need a hard box like ballerinas do since the majority of their steps are not en pointe. Hope that helped. Are those Sansha T-Perinas you're wearing in that video? Something like that would be great for Irish step-dancing. If you watch some of the Irish dance videos on KZbin, you might notice a few occasions in which the dancers do toe-stands and they're not wearing pointe shoes.
