I'm very adept using Siemens but have so far struggled to become competent with A-B, partly because nearly all videos skip past the important details and go straight to writing a program. I find your explanation of the details (like the effect of checking a box, or what happens when you press "OK", etc., ect.). Very helpful!

Do you know that you are going to use timers when you have an item on a conveyor or are moving something around and just need to know how much time it takes to get it in position? Sounds like timers are frequently used.
@ScantimeAutomationTraining Жыл бұрын
Timers are for delays, not a great idea to use Timers for tracking where items are on a conveyor etc. as we would need to account for blockages, slipping etc.

Hi there, I am confused with Force and Toggle bit. Instead of forcing Input we cant just give a toggle bit?
@ScantimeAutomationTraining2 жыл бұрын
We cover this more on our training but Toggle Bit isn't a true Force and won't properly work on Inputs and Outputs unless they are designed in a certain way while Forcing doesn't care, it will Force and Input or Output on regardless.

@ScantimeAutomationTraining3 жыл бұрын
Wow! Thanks! The programming is fairly similar, the way we use the instructions etc., it's mainly the terminology that is the most different and can take some getting used to... Each have their own positives and negatives, we prefer Siemens at Scantime, however there have been projects where we have used Allen Bradley in the past and it's worked perfectly!
@tech_nothing342511 ай бұрын
Hey Mate, This is my friendly advice ,I would love to see more on course in Specific Product such as when you have tutorials with Siemens TIA Portal , please do it only with Siemens Products and HMI, then Allen Bradley in different Playlist.. it is more easier to watch the full playlist , sound better isn't it ?

Is there any reason why you wouldn’t tick the checkbox for “Major Fault On Controller If Connection Fails While In Run Mode”? I mean is it not much safer to stop the process and run the CPU into fault mode if the I/Os are not working?
@ScantimeAutomationTraining3 жыл бұрын
It can depend, sometimes we may have an IO Card wired to non-critical equipment like lamps or sirens, if that card failed, we may not want a line stop, we may want it to continue running while just being notified of the fault 😁

@@AbdullahAhmed-vj2vi remote just means that you can test the program from the plc without the controller telling the digital or analog outputs to function. you can see the light indicators on the card light up, like with an emulator or forcing the bit, but it wont tell the output cards to function.but to be honest if i have to play with a new program i just kill the who rack.but im probably doing it wrong
