He is the most exquisite player today, it seems that his fingers don't even touch the fretboard. Here, he puts together a solo which is the stuff we all guitar players dream about. As you perfectly describe if Simply magnificent. I can imagine learning from the man, hell, in the same room. I suppose when starting you'd be scared shitlless about jammin' with him. Well done brother :-)
