Two mini goats going at it - Allen Iverson and Steve Nash. Nash is more of a distributor and can make your entire team play better, but AI carry the team and is the best scorer in the history of the game for a guy his size.

i hate when people say he can't shoot and he's one of the best stop and pop shooters . . he just to take a large volume of shots cause his teams couldn't score .
@Aadibass

Why so much hate? Are you afraid he's better than your favorite? You are very subjective and wrong in what you say.The situation in DET and MEM would make anyone go mad. Prior to that he was averaging 7apg and 26ppg and was then suddenly benched behind Hamilton/Stuckey. In DET his first games were all +20 games and they played well. He always had good D, it shows particularly in his steals. AI might not be your favorite, but he's still amongst the best players.

@SaypheZonE That's the thing, it's not always that he or what ever other player demands the ball too much, it's that when he's setting them up they cant get it done so he's able to step up and take the shots they can't make or create for them. That's what's so great about a player like him, they know how to make the shot when their teammates can't get a good look, and they know how to find their teammates when they do.

the pistons lost in 6 so they were 2 games out from finals. Second, the roster was not intact afterwards which is why they began trading for new part and their starters were injured for most of the season. They traded for AI after they were 28 games into season. in addition billups wanted out mainly because his coach was gone, they were hurt, and they had no salary cap to get players without trading. So again, you need to think before you type & read a few articles before you make an opinion.

yes, i was waiting for someone who didn't know what he was talking about to speak! For proof, check out his bio on wikipedia, you will learn about his other medals. From there, AI didn't ruin the 04 Team. If you watch the video you will see he was one of the few who wasn't bad. The teams generally have not gotten better, Sixers got worse, Denver was better because they got a lot of good players for him and Detroit still sucks. For fun: 914 Reg games 465-449 71 playoff games 30-41 He Won alot.

no D?????? He was a 3 times steal leader! He was the best scorer in the NBA at that time so who cares if took many shots? I partly agree with you about the fact that he doesn't make his team better.He can't do it on every team beacause of his big ego.But when he is the leader on his team he can lift the whole team on his shoulders like he did in '01 having Mutombo and a bunch of role players as teammates.

@blacktee31 The real issue is that George Karl is not a great coach. He's an average coach who year after year got bounced out of the play-offs because of his inability to properly prepare his team with a play-off play book. This Nuggets team should have made it to finals. They had to literally bring in a player - coach (Billups) to get the job done. Karl should have been fired 3 times over.
@blacktee31
@blacktee31 12 жыл бұрын
Nuggets would've went farther if they allowed Iverson to be the primary scorer instead of going to melo to be selfish and shoot face up j's all night. Watch at 2:35 the double comes, he looks to make the pass but they take it away so he goes the other way and scores a lay up. When he was dishing as well as scoring they always won, and this was during the time that Phoenix was one of the strongest teams in the west.

How about this? Allen Iverson crossover everyone, even michael jordan and no AI stoppers. How about he averaged about 3 spg playoff time, and had 30 ppg and 6 assists per playoff game. He brought a shitty sixers team to the NBA finals in 2000, and dropped 50 on the lakers. How about MVP, 4 scoring titles, ROY, 11x allstar, 3 x nba steals leader, 3x nba first and second team, sixth all time ppg, and during playoffs, second to Michael Jordan. You have to respect some players, the goats, cmon man.

Also you left out Philly had a playoff record with A.I until A.I left in 2010. Detroit become a worse team because of the Allen Iverson trade because they got rid of there key players, and then Denver makes the WCF because they got the key players. All your points are invalid for that reason. Just like a I said in my last player, its respect man, there are literally players, you just cannot disrespect due to all the greatness they had. And AI wasn't a tradition pg, and created the pg we have now

They had no identity and no leadership. They weren't a good team, they were a talented team. The reason they won 50 games. Before AI they were a 45win time, so a 5win increase isn't worth loathing, especially when they kept getting bounced out of the first round and nearly sweapt every year AI was there. It's no surprise when they got a real guard, Chauncey, they immediately went to the WCF. Even without their defensive anchor Marcus Camby.

That doesn't change the fact that AI made both Denver and Detroit terrible teams. AI can only be on a team where he's the man. Not just because that's how he likes it, but because that's what type of player he is. He's not a complimentary player. Whether or not the team he leaves becomes worse, doesn't change the fact he had little to zero impact on every new team he joined since leaving PHI the first time.

@rondam10 well you are right and wrong at the same time in my opinion. I think if you shoot too much and always demand the ball at all times, then that really prevents the rest of the players from becoming involved. The best player should always draw the attention and free up other players and be a playmaker not a scorer and stat machine.

LOL, I waiting, because people create history everyday and I love laughing at people who do! Sixers took a few years to recover, checkout the records and stats. In 2008-2009 season, Pistons had trained for Kwame Brown, because they needed help before they got AI! So if you think that the Pistons were still a great team before they trained for AI, you got even more issues then I thought! And a over .500 win percentage is pretty good plus the other medals matter. Get one and tell me how it feels!

This is what happens when AI wants to distribute. Shame he couldn't have taken a lesser distributor role and played a little more SG, or taken up the PG responsibility and distribute like this. Sadly, they needed a PG and he wanted to score so it didn't work as well

And Carmelo for another year and a half ? Who did Detroit have when he was not there then got traded ? and who was there when he got there ? AI Is used to being a one man team his whole life and had no one to play with!!! After he went to Denver his shots went down!

it wasnt like they missed half the season calm down injuries happen, doesnt mean you go from being the 2nd best team to not even being able to win half your games. They traded Iverson for Billups and Iverson brought the Pistons down with his selfishness, his ego, his bad overrated game. Denver trades Iverson and Anthony also misses a lot games but yet they do way better with Billups leading the team rather than Iverson while Iverson destories everything Billups did with the Pistons

great job copying the starting five. now go look at how many games they each played and their averages before AI got there. Then look at the fact they fired the coach after the season before AI because he lost in 6 games. Then look at the fact their defense went down. Kind of hard to win if the roster is injured, with a new un-experienced coach and your team leader gets traded. For fun, here is a good article for you to read to learn more: sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3679931

Iverson is a good individal player but his style of game and his selfishness doesn't help any team in fact it makes them worse Answer me this little question how come no one wanted Iverson on there team even though he was still capable of putting around 15-20 a game? He was a FA but no team even bothered to talk to him. He ended up going over seas I rest my case.

There is no argument. After Philly, AI couldn't be on any team. Because he wanted to be the leader, playing 48min a night. Where's the argument against his own words? He didn't wanna admit that he can't own every team. Had he stayed in Philly yes, but the teams he went to had agendas and teams already that he got dragged into and destroyed. He'd have been a great sixth man too. Just that apparently does not sound too good to him.

Iverson did not win a lot of games, he has only been part of a team that won 50+ games twice in his whole career. Every time he leaves his team the team magically gets better. And he did not win 2 gold medals lol were in the world did you get that from? He only won 1 medal and it was bronze which should of been gold but Iverson ruined the 04 USA team
