The problem with that logic, is you can take them away from all the law abiding citizens who bought them legally. Then who's left with them?? The criminals! They don't follow laws and rules, they don't care what's illegal, They will obtain weapons no matter what. I know we all want to be able to prevent these things from happening and a law might make you feel like you're safe, but that's just not reality. We don't have a gun problem, we have a mental health problem.

You'd be surprised at the range of responses our bodies produce in response to stress and trauma. Some combat veterans also grin while retelling near death experiences, tragedy or terror. Clearly it isn't enjoyable, but sometimes we try to act unaffected by trauma that we still have not finished or even began processing. It's like being in emotional denial.
