All wood business, either firewood or lumber is a very hard way to make a living. The best part of the wood business is the great people you get to deal with. I cut firewood because I heat with it but I am 10-15 years ahead and am running out of places to stack it. I live in an area where everyone has firewood and there is a firewood stand about every 2 miles in my area. Sometimes 3 or 4 per mile depending how close you are to a campground. If I want to sell bulk, I have to drive at least 45 miles. Without a trailer, it isn;t worth doing a truckload at a time.
