Great video, thank you! Just curious, what is the black deposits in the unit that hadn't been serviced? I had mine cleaned a year ago, but then had a bunch of this stuff in there now, and just wondering what causes this. The technician says that in the past I didn't have it serviced often enough, and so it might be leaking?

Mine is a Vitodwns 100, the upper housing is completely surrounding the inner parts, and also there is a plate separating the upper round heat exchanger together with gas connection, below the separator plate is the pump and the hot water heat exchanger, and in this model it is more difficult to take this hot water heat exchanger due to less space to maneuver, and i can not find the name plate of this model, iwould like to see the complete dissassembly of the specified model and maintenance, thx

I've got a 100-W 26kW Combi. The call for hot water seems to ignore the flow sensor, it's purely temperature based. Because of this it fires up several times in the night to heat the tiny amount of DHW in the plate exchanger and then turns off (all at zero flow). It's a really annoying. I've tested the flow sensor separately and it's all in-spec. Is this the intended operation of the boiler or is there a problem with the main board?

I have a question and perhaps you could help. sadly you didnt fully strip the other boiler , combi 30kw , as it would answer my question. i had some building work done and boiler was removed and stored in the garage for over a year. had this re fitted this week , but it seems to be missing a part at the back. Pressure relief valve at the back, has black plastic pipe connected to it , and it hangs freely at the back of the boiler. when i checked on newer model , it is linked internally to the discharge grey flex pipe , but on my model (vitodents b1b 30kw 2011) , it does seem to be loose and i cant dinf where they both would link. searched on viessmann manuals and no luck. could you help please?

If you take the case off you will need a gas safe engineer as it will need testing afterwards. You need to drain the boiler to remove the air vent, It then just turns and pulls out. Thanks.

Not really sure what you mean but they are both combi boilers. Thank you so much for the comment. Happy new year
@monstermarkone5 жыл бұрын
The WB1C on the left is a system boiler (unless it’s been modified after installation). If it was a combi, the black plastic ‘blanking plate’ part would be a stainless steel plate heat exchanger. The first 7 digits of the serial number will confirm what boiler type it is if you put them into the Viessmann spares app.

Hi Allen. It’s nice you to put this video up. These are an excellent good boiler I’v been using fitting viessmann the last 10 years now. They are one of the best to work on very easy access to everything. you can take the whole burner assembly out in two minutes on a service. All the ones I fitted during that time have been very reliable they are extremely quiet in operation and most people have noted the gas bill go down. Their worst enemy is a dirty sludgy system water And shoddy installations. Only downside to viessmann are they are quite pricey on spare parts but fortunately never had to buy many as they been quite reliable ! The boiler is only scrap on your wall as it has never been serviced properly. Good video but I wish you stripped it further down To show the quality
@AllenHart9996 жыл бұрын

Hello. I have a strange problem with my Vitopend100 series. Hot waters works fine, but when I try to start heating the flame starts a few seconds, then it stopps and I get a sound like water is circulating but theres no heating whatsoever. Pressure is fine, no problem with thermostat, no error from the unit. What can it be at fault ? Could it be the thermal sensor probe on the heating side ? That's what I suspect. Any thoughts appreciated.

Did you find the issue? My vittodens 100 is not heating properly and how water is fine as well. Waitin on a tech next week.
@ForgottenGamesAndMods3 жыл бұрын
@@joshnichols9972 Yes, it was the 3-way valve. That's a little expensive to replace, about $125 here.
@joshnichols99723 жыл бұрын
Ok I can deal with that. 125$ USA I have him comin to clean it out and fix anything it may need
@ForgottenGamesAndMods3 жыл бұрын
@@joshnichols9972 This is one of the more expensive parts that can break. Thermal sensor on the pipes are around $50 and relays around $25 at most. Some people replace the 3-way valve with an alternate one. These 3 parts have the highest chances to break for this model. Everything else should be long lasting. Replacing the 3-way is not hard, it takes a few minutes for an experienced person. Good luck and have a long lasting boiler.

Looks like a lot of plastic bits inside and rubber pipes to the heat exchanger ? Don't seam like these would last ? The house we moved into has a ATAG Q38c and it looks quality inside, nothing but stainless steel and brass, it has a small 14ltr DHW cylinder inside the boiler itself so it doesn't need to fire up if only a small amount of hot water is needed and doesn't have a plate heat exchanger to block with limescale etc Any other manufacturers doing a similar set up to my ATAG ? Not a gas engineer but interested in this field.

We had a flow problem with our Vitodens 100-w boiler and we traced it to a blockage in the heat exchanger so we bought some washing machine descaler and pumped it into the heat exchanger and left it for about an hour and then flushed it out, this solved the problem the heating and hot water now works fine again, Please note the heat exchanger is made of stainless steel not aluminium.
