I know the test really well but I get confused when I am working out their questions

Hi! Great video! Would the test work if the Nitric acid was added after the Silver Nitrate?
@AlleryChemistry9 жыл бұрын
Raahim Aziz Thanks for your comment! It should really be added prior to the addition of silver nitrate as it will react with any impurities that could form a precipitate when silver nitrate is added.

Great video as always!! For OCR A Is this module 3, chapter 8.3 or 8.2?
@alishbashaikh4103 жыл бұрын
the halide test is mentioned in 8.2 but in 8.3 it indicates in what order you should do it in

i get confused in questions about when its talking about the best reducing agents or oxidising agents and whether a Cl2 atom or Cl- ion is best? Are Cl- ions best reducing agents - the ION and Cl2 worst oxidising agents - the ATOM
@AlleryChemistry7 жыл бұрын
Oxidising agents gain electrons so Cl2 is a good oxidising agent. It can accept electrons easily. Reducing agents are lose electrons, I- would be the best reducing agent as it loses it's electron more readily.
