Hi 5m48 you don't need to undo that section... it is just two screws one each side of the cylinder you need to take out.

@@mowerboy7914 I do but I don’t know if you know, I’m bed bound after a terrible accident, breaking my back 17 places, and now have cancer there too. I haven’t been able to maintain as I always do, but I have new covers and number dial all to be fixed but has the usual Kawasaki carb problem with fuel and needs a good clean. I know it doesn’t look great but it’s my wife only cutting grass on top of a 65 hour a week on the board nhs job too. The lawns are lovely, but can’t afford the Allett 51 Stirling Battery at the moment. So wondered if you’d give me £200 quid part ex for mine as it will make a good mower, for a revamped 20 SK. Or whatever they are called in the Kensington, as I have every cartridge for the Kensington. Not sure what you’ve got, and if you have, do you do courier service and obviously I would pay. How are you keeping ?

Can you sharpen the reel yourself or do you have to send it off to be sharpened?

Hi. I can sharpened the reel by backlapping which is good during the mowing season to keep it sharp. But it's not the same as a lathe grinder so one a year it's worth sending the cassette away to get it professionally done

It's not easy to buy Allett in Europe. The Germans gave just got a dealership but not sure about elsewhere

About 40 years i had a battery mower think it was a suffolk lead acid battery did 2 mows of my lawn before recharge. Have to say it laid nice lines and did a fine cut. Got a new mountfield rotary not as good for a quality lawn. We have gone full circle in my lifetime. Withe the more newer motors and batteries should be fine. My old electric was only push mode.

I just struggle to see any of these £2k+ battery machines still running in 50+ years time when you know full well there will still be randomes and atcos running that are donkeys older than that

Fair point. As I said in the video I'm not a battery fan. But this machine is next level. And if we are starved of Petrol in a few years who knows?

Totally agree with you Sir, and the price point is going to kill Allett in the long run. You can’t expect people to associate the classic green and red as the Rolex of lawn mowers, because there are American and Australian manufacturers who are just as good quality or better at slightly lower price points.
