Tom Olstza is the GOAT, All the years I've watched him bowl this unquestionably was his highest single string on the program. Was there anything legit he couldn't accomplish, in fact with all the competition,he still maintained the highest 3 strings to compete in nearly every championship telecast.

Tom Olszta best candlepin bowler of all time!

Olszta never let a negative thought enter his mind when he was bowling. A bad box or fill would not phase him in the least. His coolness was a major asset. Watch his competitor here. He disintegrates on every bad roll. This cost him dearly.

Can't disagree, but I'll hazard a guess he didn't hesitate to cash the check.

21 if I’m not mistaken. I can’t find a video on KZbin in which he loses.

it's funny to see the old let's go bowling commercial. candlepin bowling was just past it's peak cause about this time some of the alleys were starting to disappear. i was bowling in 2 leagues and met my wife there. now alot of the alleys are gone. i'm 70 and still bowling in a league but it's mostly older guys and some gals and i think the lanes we bowl at aren't long for this world. i'd givem 2 or 3 maybe 4 yrs. and that'll be too bad. they have built some new lanes in the boston area called king bowl but they are 10pin lanes and that to me is not real bowling. for me it's only candlepin bowling.

I had to quit 10-pin with the 16 lb ball and a mediocre 190 average, out here in the Great Lakes boondocks, as I was losing the battle against massotherapy. Given the inevitable shift in demographics, my gut feeling is candlepins will rebound - and I'd love to be a small part of it!
@steveperry13443 жыл бұрын
@@richardkammerer2814 i doubt that it exists out in your neck of the woods but who knows. if you like to bowl i think you'd like it, the balls only weigh just under 2.5 lbs and of course the pins are skinnier and light, but the lanes are the same length except they are all maple from foul line to the pin plate and no oil. i'm hoping the league starts up again in the fall now that the covid thing is lifted here in massachusetts.

@@richardkammerer2814Sadly, I doubt that Candlepins can rebound. There hasn’t been a machine manufactured in over 50 years, so opening up a new alley requires buying machines stored from a closed alley. I don’t know how many of those are still available. Plus, there are the maintenance costs, and the low profit margins. Bowling takes a lot of room for just a few people to have fun. And, as bad as tenpins is on strings, candlepins would be unplayable.
