Artists from across the nation, both seasoned and novice, converge on iconic locations to capture their essence on canvas. Amidst the backdrop of wildlife, historic edifices, and landmarks, they race against time, vying for the approval of discerning judges. While episode winners progress to subsequent rounds, up to 50 wildcard artists per location also hope to dazzle the judges. Their aim? A coveted spot in the grand final and the title of Landscape Artist of the Year.

at that moment when a man with a dog walked along the shore or at that moment when a boat with oarsmen quickly floated in front of the platforms - it was so appropriate that I regretted that the artists did not use these random inclusions in the landscape. And yes, I agree with the jury’s choice, I especially liked these works

Nor is collage, mixed media, lino cut, sculpture, embroidery, printmaking, BUT THEY ARE ALL ART, and AS SUCH, all valid forms of expression.

You would NOT believe (in the worst sense of the word) what a £10,000 commission to paint a scene in Venice ended up being but that's what you when get judges who are more about promoting their gender than objectively evaluating artist work.
