Didn't know about Allie getting COVID until now - that makes her PR all the more impressive. Just like at the cross-country worlds, kept moving up throughout the race even when others might have mentally checked out.

7th in these US Trials, a PB today, and the Olympic Qualifying Time. Prettyy damn good! This last training block showed Allie really needs a good coach. If Allie takes the next 4 years to drop 18 sec from her PB she can make the 2028 Olympics on US soil.

@@turtlep8582 recently she got one in Colorado to get her ready for these Trials. I mean a more than 1 training block, but a full season at least and every season to the next Trials

The top NINE competitors in the finals hit a PB. She was up against some really tough competition, tougher than usual.

It was an absolute stunner of a race. So proud of our US women. 9 PBs in tbe final; wow, wow, wow!!!!!

unfortunately she's in the best shape of her life, and with the best mental attitude she's ever had. I can't see her dropping under 9min 15 sec.. There's just too many great competitors out there in this race now.

I've followed Allie for a few years, and I'm so proud of her! I didn't know she had Covid, that must have affected her even though ran well. Getting a PB by 3 seconds at the trials is great! I wish for her that she hadn't been boxed in right at the beginning of the race, but she's still got lots of racing in front of her.

She seems to understand that running is not the be all , end all, and that its part of the whole life experience. Nice to be in the top 7 of the finals, thats for sure! So, hopefully she finds other paths to pursue so that running doesn't become consuming.

I love her attitude and positivity. Also as a mom of a teenage daughter, she is a great role model for body positivity. I know she may not have had the race result she wanted, but I literally was shouting at my TV 9:21! 9:21! 9:21! Can’t wait to watch her career continue to progress.
