C-section recovery tip… stay ahead of the pain by taking the meds as prescribed and don’t skip. I made that mistake night one at home. . Belly band a must. Make sure you keep a pillow nearby in case you need to sneeze or cough to hold tight against your incision otherwise it feels like your incision is ripping open. You got this! And the catheter being removed I don’t even remember so it must have been uneventful lol
@babybx32 жыл бұрын
I didn’t feel much when they removed my catheter. I had an emergency c section at 30 weeks. I healed really well. My scar is almost invisible. I know that probably has to do with the fact I had my daughter pretty early as well so I wasn’t that big and I wasn’t having twins. She weighed 3lbs. You both are going to do amazing and be the best mama and mommy ever! So excited for you both!

C section tip: Frida mom has some great c section products! My favorite was the disposable underwear. Wore that and a nursing bra with big a shirt. Doing things that make you feel comfy and go slow! I had my first incision open from over doing it so take all the help. My second c section I listened to my body and had no problems. Wishing you ladies all the best!🤍

You look radiant, Allie. Carrying so nicely. Nursery is looking very comfy, cozy and calming. I’m sure babies will love being there. Probably will get stronger muscles pushing that stroller, but it makes perfect sense with twins. Thanks for sharing this video. Stay safe

I think it may be standard anyways, but ask for your IV to be put in your hand so you don’t have to worry about bending your arm/holding babes with it being in the way. You can also ask them to put a sticker/color stretchy gauze tape over it so you’re not looking at it the entire time through the see-through stick pad they use to hold it in place.

The room is so cute. I think it has a neutral coastal/ summer kind of room. The one print you put up looks like bikini tops, boats and Pokémon balls on it. Could you mention what actually on the prints by the door. It’s hard to see even with glasses. You guys give off happy, safe cozy space vibes. Thankyou for being such a positive couple.

The nursery is looking so nice, I love the colours you have chosen 🥰 I’ve had 6 children and the Donkey was by far my fave pram, I will admit I became a little too consumed by changing the fabrics and liners, there’s so much choice to personalise it for each baby! Also I’m a midwife and you know what, once your babies are born you won’t even pay attention to what we do around you, you’ll be too busy loving on your littles and Sam xxxx

Fellow c-section mom and I promise you shouldn’t worry too much about the catheter! I was so freaked out but it wasn’t bad at all! Also, my #1 recovery tip is to make sure you have a post-partum belly band! I had a really hard time standing up straight without one.

My mom had one vaginal birth and one (emergency) c-section. Definitely pros and cons to both and end of the day what the pregnant person feels more comfortable with is 100% what you should do! Definitely make sure you have places to sit and rest that you don't sink down into because it would be hard and painful to get up that way.

I had twins. Carried until 38 1/2 weeks. One was 6 lb 10 The other was 6 lb 14. I had a c section because both babies were breech. I was most scared about the catheter too. I just told them the give me the epidural first then do the catheter so I wouldn’t feel it.

Okay, I have seen LOTS of comments that you don’t feel them take the catheter out. Not the case for me, they left mine in for like 18hrs and I was not numb or on heavy pain meds. It was very uncomfortable and a little painful to me BUT it’s only for a minute and then it’s over!

Hey Allie, ex-nurse here! Just so you know, the needle doesn't stay in your arm when they put an IV in. It's just a little plastic tube, the needle retracts into the mechanism so it's protected. When they remove the IV it doesn't hurt, maybe the patient just feels some iritation, it's just removing the plastic tube.

You don’t have the urge to go to the toilet with the catheter in and when they take it out you literally do not feel it. I think I was as nervous as you were over it and it was the least painful and scary thing about the C Section

C-section tips: take morphine or extra pain medication home if they offer (Tylenol and Advil might not cut it), fridamom has c section postpartum underwear, get lots of light cotton robes to wear while you heal, high waisted loose underwear are great and some people like depends. The halo bassinet was great for us having the baby high up so that I could reach. Make sure you have a comfortable glider or chair that you can sit in that isn't too deep (Pillows behind your back can help prop you up), holding a pillow when you laugh is helpful. Make sure you have a ton of help at home! Getting up to walk as much as you can will help you recover. You won't feel them take out the catheter because you're still on pain medication (you won't feel it go in either), but you'll get up to walk and pee shortly after. You may have to teach yourself to pee after the catheter but that's the worst part! Everything you go through will be worth it for the two loves of your life! ❤️

I am a nurse who is also chronically Ill who’s had MANY IVs and a couple catheters myself. And has placed more IVs and catheters then I could count. I just wanted to pass on some info about the IV and catheter. The IV is obviously a needle, but they pull out the actual needle. All that’s left is a hard plastic “catheter!” So no needle staying in your arm. Also, the urinary catheter is placed after your numb. They will pull it when you are able to mostly feel your legs and everything. They wait to make sure you can actually go on your own. There is a chance that you will still be numb enough that you don’t feel the removal at all. But I will say it doesn’t hurt when they pull it it’s maybe just slightly uncomfortable. Personally a tampon is more painful then the catheter. (Sorry TMI) I think the only people that really complained about the removal were men. So there’s that. One last thought, you won’t feel the urge at all to pee while the catheter is in. Hope this helps. Big hugs.

My biggest worry about delivery baby was caterer… and I was waiting super long for epidural (both time I got right before pushing) I miss caterer part with epidural but second time they did like quick caterer (just to empty my bladder 🤷🏼♀️) and wasn’t painful and actually peeing was less painful this time then without caterer. I hope everything will goes well for you. (I hope I didn’t give to much personal/horrible details)

I've had natural no medication (child #2), I've had a epidural birth (child #1) and I've had a c-section birth! (Child #3@#4) My third pregnancy was twins!! And they were transverse breech!! It seems like your pregnancy is going along well even with you being small!! I delivered the twins at 34 weeks and it was my 3rd pregnancy!! FYI you won't feel the cath at all!! You will feel the IV but it's not the needle that stays in you it's actually a tiny itty bitty tube like a straw!!! I know your scared but the babies will make it all feel worth it!!
