I'm interested in Queen's, but I've heard it's very white and I've grown up as a wasian with only white friends and never feeling completely like them and I really don't want a repeat of that in uni, any opinions on what the diversity is like in Kingston? And I'm also considering Waterloo but I know it has a rep of the student's being super stressed and depressed. And I get that that's mostly just a joke because as an IB kid we joke about that a lot too, but from being in IB I know that we joke about it but in reality a lot of us are struggling. In DP I kind of struggled with my motivation and it led to some unhappy times and I don't know if I want to go to Waterloo and feel that same pressure that'll push me back into depression :/ Also thank you so much for making these videos! They've been so informative and helpful :)

@@Jessmakani Hi! I love the program at western, it is perfect for me. The first year is general so you have time to figure out which type of engineering you actually want to do while taking courses related to all the different fields. Being a woman in eng is pretty normal honestly, the ratio is a lot better at western than at schools like waterloo for example and the people here just treat everyone like other people. The guys are not rude or condescending whatsoever and everyone is treated equally. The environment is also very much that engineering is a team sport, everyone there repeats that constantly. Your classmates will all be willing to help you out and everyone studies in groups which is very helpful. I am going to be making videos about western eng in the future so if you wanna see those you can check out my channel :) good luck with your last year of high school! I hope you end up coming to western!

I think the UofT college system rlly screws us over in terms of food (like theres only so many places ur allowed to go and u can't eat at other res' for the most part). For example, my college didnt have a meal plan so any time i ate on campus it was the same 3 places. They also need more seating in general cuz campus is huge and theres not enough places to sit for the amount of students. I agree that going out to eat in downtown toronto is wayyyy better, it's just sometimes unrealistic in terms of price and time (since again, campus is huge and sometimes u just wanna grab something quick). Just my personal opinion. It may be a different experience for me since I am vegetarian and can't rlly go to the food trucks!

depends on which school and dorm! at mac there are kitchens but students normally don't really use them unless they live in apartment style
