Code 3 Z3 Siren Demo

This is my second video of the Code 3 Z3 siren. I wanted to do a standard video with normal audio to clearly hear the tones. Enjoy!

Our county Sheriff patrol cars use these, you almost never hear them with the sirens on so you know something is going down when this sound is off in the distance. The last time I heard it was a few days ago while being evacuated from my home due to wildfire… sends chills down the spine

Our police use this along with Sound Off Signal. I heard this the other day as PD was responding to my apartment for a fatal medical call.

Fun fact: Our police here in NSW Australia use this siren in the BMW 530D and Chrysler 300 SRT. But the control box was different. The control box is similar to that of a Hazard System 1000 series.

I am fairly confident those wail and yelp tones are the ones that the newer New South Wales Police (Australia) highway patrol use, but in conjunction with a Hazard Systems/SLIC style control head.

I know Azusa has transitioned to them. I did a handful of ride-alongs with them back in 2015 and they were mostly using Touchmasters then. My home town of Ventura now uses the Z3 too.

hey quick couple of questions, I was wondering what does the DIM button do ? what is its function? I have activated it while my equipment was on and I didn't see anything different with my lights. Also I have a co-worker with an older model code3 wingman maybe GEN1 if that's a thing. But he has lost alot of his lights and he only has two functional lights in the wingman. Any ideas on what might be the issue? do they have a fuse that would go bad in them ?

J Infranca I believe that the DIM is supposed to reduce LED brightness, but the light at has to have the feature too and the Z3 needs it programmed too. If I push and hold my DIM button, the lights in the control head are reduced.

J Infranca I own an older Code 3 Wingman (not sure what gen.). No problems with it, but the electronics sometimes fail after years of use. I.e circuit boards and the like, and sometimes wires come loose. It’s hard to know without taking it apart and testing the power.

Never been a fan of Code 3's sirens, they mostly sound like toy sirens to me. The Z3 sounds decent-ish, but certainly looks well-designed.
