You brought back great memories of the early eighties. When you fix things in the field. No computers are fancy parts. Turn on the silo unloader watch the cows come a runnin.

My family ran a NH/AC dealership. My dad was chopping with an AC 200. And a 2 row cutter. Something happened to the 200 so they needed a different tractor. A brand new AC 7045 cab and air came in a week prior. Top of the line for that time and that was the one he got to “try it out”. He started going and everything was fine, the tractor had the Powershift button in the floor which gains speed when you mashed it. He popped the powershift button and in about a hundred yards pieces of the cutter were flying. Those tractors had no give to them with that much hp and torque the cutter couldnt take it. Thats one of the few memories i have of my dad. Miss you.

Glad to see the Younger Gen of Kids still earning to farm... Back when kids were out in the field plowing, harvesting, etc before 12!... I'm starting to see a trend again with that notion.

Nice video of some great looking A C tractors. I learned to drive our 1950 A C WD at the tender age of 7; could not have been possible without the hand clutch. In 1960 dad traded the WD for a used WD-45; loved that tractor with it's snappy governor and hp. All 3 of dad's brothers owned some form of Allis tractors too. Thanks for the orange-show of filling silo.

I’ve never seen a D17 with square fenders like that. Plus it has 3 point. Nice tractor! We had I believe a 1963 D17 Series IV on the farm.
@kirbymurdstone4925
@kirbymurdstone4925 3 жыл бұрын
It was one of the last years, the fenders and the 3Point were the beginnings of the 170. Change the engine to a Perkins diesel, put some new Sheetmetal and now you have a 170. Allis was constantly improving their tractors even within the models. The last D17 was quite different than the first D17.

Just found you and subscribed. Great video and camera positioning. My favorite when he was driving up the road along a grassy field and you were on the side. Just a beautiful shot with the orange tractor and the tree color in the background.

That's the best power show on a farm, the big horse, xt190, running the chopper, the medium tractor ,185, on the blower and the small pony,d17, pulling the wagons with all she's got, feeding the whirlafeed blower!

Ahhhhh, the Allis Chalmers tornado, what a thing of beauty! My uncle had an identical setup. 190xt 3 800 gehl, H&S wagons, but we chopped it finer and pulled wagons with the D17. That XT would walk, and bark a beautiful tune

Back in the 80's i had the same job as those boys but we pulled the wagons along side and never unhooked them. We ran a 3 row chopper and pulled with a 210 AC. The blower was a Gehl 99 hi throw if i recall. When running the pickup head we could use the long axle 7080.

We had a D17D 175D 5050D and a 6080D Trouble with the 6080 is that is had to work pretty hard with that 4 cylinder combine engine it to turn out the 83 HP claimed. Funny part about that 175 is that it had the same Perkins diesel in it as the MF 175. Nice to see an XT still in the field but it looked like it had about all it wanted with that GEHL chopper and wagon.

83 hp on that engine was a cake walk, most made 100 hp with the intercooler

When I was in high school, I worked for a neighboring dairy farmer after school and weekends. He had a6080 4x4. I'm not really a true Allis guy, but I always liked driving the 6080. It was a fun little tractor to drive.

My uncle and grandfather run a small farm (20+ head) and use AC plus a few longs and a international and a ford. Uncle has a 190 a D17 and a WD. Mostly a hobby farm. But my uncle sells beefers and hay. Price of beef is shit right now tho. Hay sells good if you sell it to the right areas.

I love the older AC's... What's tube coming from the air cleaner to the exhaust stack?
@bigcal36

it pulls debris collected in the precleaner out the exhaust to prolong air filter life.

@@bigcal36 That's a clever idea! I've never seen that before... I do remember on some older tractors that I've run... the the pre cleaner can get pretty full of stuff after a while... Thanks...

Grew up with an AC- WD,WD45, AC, 170,185 eventually stepped up to an Case IH 1086 and White 4-135. Curious why you’re not filling the wagons up? The first load, to get the pipe shined up I can see but once they’re shined up...fill’em up. Stay safe during Harvest!

Looks like the 190XT was doing fine to me. I used to work for a cousin who chopped with a 190XT and two row New Holland. He put his D19 diesel turbo on the blower and we pulled wagons with a D19 gas and a 170. Dad used to chop with a WD45 and an Allis forage chopper and the tractors I drove then were in the sandbox.

I grew up on my grandmothers dairy by Truman, sold it and moved to new Richland then sold it and moved to Sauk center. While moving we would stop in Hutchinson and fuel up on the many trips pulling and hauling all the equipment. A couple years later me and a neighbor bought and sold horses and would go to the sale barn in Hutchinson when the had horse sales. Feels like I'm home when I go up there. We also farmed with allis. Had a C, 2 WD45's and a XT190. Had some farmall's Oliver's and massey's too.
