the apache longbows had me laughing as they would be so vastly more capable than all the other units in your army. Looks great, love the painting.

Hi, love the list but didnt you miss some artillery?
@Mdhneo0073 жыл бұрын
Love the Marines in Team Yankee, in fact I've got a slightly different list on the shelf, I only wish it was a well painted lol. However, they never get played because they fail in nearly every aspect. They lack both the armor and numbers to hold off most played Russian lists and fail to pen the newest the reds have to offer and their excellent infantry is useless in the tank focused meta of TY. I'm happy to hear they've worked well for you.
@Based_Lord_Humongous3 жыл бұрын
I have seen a Marine List wherein the main formation was a full M60 company, but the trick was that everything else was short platoons in the Rifle and LAV Cos. It was surprisingly effective, with the LAVS having the numbers to troll BMPs and the M60s having the numbers to bring their guns to bear. And Marine infantry ARE THE BEST period.
@Mdhneo0073 жыл бұрын
@@Based_Lord_Humongous That sounds pretty interesting I'd have to take a look at building something similar. Completely agree with the sentiment regarding infantry, but with the focus on tanks in this game it's kinda hard to seriously field infantry in effective numbers.

@@Mdhneo007 yeah man if I can remember it I'll post it on here I saw it as a picture from a tournament in Kentucky one of our guys went to and it took me a second to figure it out but it's pretty cool.

Just got the American starter box myself. Curious what people think of the Apache in even semi-competitive play. First pass it seems like a REALLY costly target for the huge amount of cheap AA available in nearly every Soviet or Pact list. Even if they bring T-80s, are these super-copters getting their points back before being blasted from the sky?
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall3 жыл бұрын
Well I've only used them twice and once they earned their points back and more, the other they never made it on the table. Against swarms of BMPs I don't see them being cost effective. However bullseyeing a couple of T-80s goes a long way to making their points.

Thank you for this good video. I'm very interested by the Soviets. The box "Yuri wolfes" seems to be a good start. But I have one question. In this box can I find the new book of rules or it is the old (first) version? Thank you for your help.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall3 жыл бұрын
You know, I never owned that box so I'm not sure what's in it, though if your interested in that box I would look at the two player starter, for 50ish US you get 3 T-64, 2 x BMP and 4 T-80, plus and American force you can sell or share with a friend and the latest rulebook.

@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Thank you
@Based_Lord_Humongous3 жыл бұрын
Yuri's Wolfs would be great if you're going T-64 heavy. Use the T-80s in the two player box as Black Box support, and now you have a choice in recce in the form of BMP-1/2/3.

Surprisingly similar to my usual West German list! I think the list might struggle to dig out any infantry when attacking

Fair enough, with no Artillery, except on the Apaches, I think you are right.

Were M-60's in units at the same time as Russian T-80's? In regards to the M-60's in use with the Apache gunships? I don't think so. One of the problems with Team Yankee. See Battle Order. I am not associated with Battle Order. However, it has its issues but it is generally very accurate.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall3 жыл бұрын
I'll have to check out Battle Order, thanks for the recommend. Regarding this list I like to keep in mind that's it's hypothetical. So when the crap hits the fan and the fighting starts in WW3 who's to say what units would be called up to fight or what units might end up supporting what? Team Yankee is a "what if?" game after all.
@andrewtibbetts26952 жыл бұрын
Timeline wise, the M60 came into American service in 1959, while the T80 went into Soviet service in 1976. However both were and still are in service, so unless the battle your fighting happens to hypothetically be in the 1960s and early 70s then the T80 would be in the picture. (Also the Abrams soon followed in 1980 for entering service)

What is the average point size for lists in TY?
@michaeltruett8173 жыл бұрын
Most games are 100 to 120 points. 75 point games are also relatively common but are becoming rarer.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall3 жыл бұрын
We try and play at 100 points but a flex between 75-125 seems fairly normal. The super tanks like the M1A1HC are so pricey it's hard to fit any in low points games.
@scottduncan7159 Жыл бұрын
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall I would suggest taking a marine rifle platoon. It would be part of the core formation making it even stronger. Also LAD-AD are "damn good"
