A look at Alloa and Clackmannan, and a walk between the two towers: Alloa Tower and Clackmannan Tower.

Beautiful! I really enjoyed the video and can remember parts of Alloa where I lived once, remember the place so well. We married in Alloa and the birth-place of our two eldest children. Sad about the Woollen Mills as can remember Patons and Baldwins and of course Alloa hospital where I worked , wonder if its still there? Hope to visit one day again, the Ochil Hills bring back such happy youthful memories and the old buildings too, super! These two towers certainly are well preserved and retain a pageant of history to be revered, especially Clackmannan and how Robert the Bruce left his hat on the stone clack meaning stone and mannan meaning hat shall remember as these historical places are certainly full of wonder and delight.

You would probably have noticed a big Asda supermarket when you got off the train at Alloa station. That used to be a Skol brewery.

Alloa was pretty much a brewing mecca in its heyday.

Thank you for sharing this! I spent only a few short hours in wonderful Stirling this summer, hoping to come back next year to visit Alloa and Clacks as well.

I have lived in Clackmannanshire my entire life and this is a bit of a sad video for me, the reason is that the breweries and mills are all but gone. I think the heritage of an area should be preserved. There doesn't seem much in this area with regards to that.

For a long time there was talk of a museum in one of the old Paton's Mill buildings. At the moment all you have is a very good but very small display of brewery-related stuff in the public library, but you're right. The area definitely needs something more.

I like your videos, the one from Dumyat was posted on to the Discover Clackmannanshire Facebook page. I gave them the links to this video, the one from King's Seat and another one or two that are in Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
