Hello Stefan, I respectfully say that Marree is pronounced Mar (as in Jar) -ree, Mar-ree. This is different to Marie like a women’s name. Regards Maris

Doubtful. If you watch any of the Tom Kruise history of the 1950's, the locals including the Afghan residents of the time, all pronounced it Marie.

did have a look again where I have my pronouncing from Jacki Stallward has a great audio book about the Birdsville track with a lot of older recordings in and my pronunciation seems to be quite alright and more as one word like Marie. Cheers

yea, weight, need to pack up if you need to move, always need levelled spot for car, maybe not as comfortable and very expensive however I ave been offered to test one which I will do maybe I can be convinced otherwise.
