We tackle one of the most stunning technical 4wd tracks in NSW. It's called Mt Airly but more correctly is the ascent and descent of Genowlan Mountain towards Genowlan Point. In attendance Steve and Vicky in their short wheelbase Jeep JK's, Brent as trip leader in his short-wheelbase Jeep TJ and john John and myself in the Hilux. We certainly had no shortage of adventure with broken axles, tyres of the bead and the use of the winch...

How was the track when you were there? And what would be vehicle requirements in order for someone to go tackle this track today?
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 4 жыл бұрын
The video should give you a good idea about the tracks condition, car requirements really depend on driver as you can see Brent drove it easily on 33”

Wrong short wheel.base can attack stepper....you didn't take the same line...if the 2door jeep.woild have came lower on the approach rock he wouldn't have been teetering as much
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 4 жыл бұрын
Naturally a long wheel base with sufficient clearance can do higher and steeper as it can get front wheels up an obstacle a short wheel base can’t, but short wheel base has in most cases a ramp over angle advantage

love it, but Unfortunately, its a very very expensive hobby. you taking a car to places that no cars should go. its simply not design for cars and you simply need to have lots of $$$ to constantly fiddle and fix/replace parts or have a car that is complete rack and hence you don't care.
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 4 жыл бұрын
Not really smoking is more expensive, haven’t broken anything in a while and while it does happen from time to time with a well modified vehicle Imitation not that often. We all car about our cars no matter how expensive.
